They're smaller than they were in the Buu Saga :problem:

When Gohan exits the ROSAT (i.e. Cell Games Gohan), he's taller than when he's training inside it, such as in that scan you posted. Physically, he's 9 or 11, yet looks older than Kid Goku, Goten, and Kid Trunks.

Barely any difference. Like I said before his SS form appears to make him look taller and muscular. But without it, he doesn't look older than Goten, and Kid Trunks.
Fair enough. He's not much taller, but his muscular frame makes him appear bigger.

My point stands though. Gohan is shown gradually growing throughout the series. This is visually shown in the We Gotta Power opening. Future Trunks looked like a teenager when he was Kid Trunks' (Super) age...and apparently, he had different hair too. O.o
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Gotenks is awesome.
Again. No offense to you in any way, but I'm real sick of Gotenks being treated as the main feature while Goten and Trunks (mostly Goten) are treated as basically dirt. They're much better characters on their own IMO, and Gotenks takes way too much from Trunks.

And besides that, he's not awesome anymore since he always gets one-shotted.

Gotenks is basically just Trunks dialed up to 11. Feels more like Trunks absorbs Goten, rather than they fused.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Yeah, that's basically what I was going for. Thanks.

If super was aging them, Trunks SHOULD like teen Future Trunks, as seen here.
Image
NOT A FREAKING 8 YEAR OLD!
Image
The visual discrepancy between age and physical build can easily be explain as Artistic License, they can draw a teenager with a 8 years old kid body and there would be nothing wrong with that.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

14-year-old Future Trunks is taller than 14-year-old Present Trunks... How in the world there wouldn't be anything wrong with this!? :eh:

I always felt that the more a Saiyan's power increases as a kid, the more they grow, in Gohan's case, it increased a lot in only 1 year and Trunks' and Goten's power didn't increase that much, while Goku's power only increased like 100 or 200 units which wouldn't be enough for making him grow up.

I once read a theory that Kid Trunks isn't growing because training in the gravity room with Vegeta stunted his growth.

By that logic all Saiyans on Planet Vegeta would be midget since Planet Vegeta has 10x Earth's gravity
Toyotarō: … I get the feeling I’ve just heard something amazing (laughs). Lord Beerus and Whis turn up in Dragon Ball Super, and have become an unsurpassable wall for Goku and the gang. What do the two of them mean to you?

Toriyama: Well… First off, right now I don’t have any plans for Goku and Vegeta to surpass Beerus and Whis.

Funny as it is: Even GT showed Trunks and Goten non-grown up in the beach flashback with an older looking Pan.

Since there's no definitive amount of time passed having been said it's impossible to claim how old Goten and Trunks are currently. I know everyone wants to use Pan's birth and age she's supposed to be at EOZ as the measurements for what year it is in Super but the way I see it, unless they explicitly say how much time has passed there's no way to be sure. As far as I'm concerned, as soon as Episode 1 of Super starts, EOZ is erased immediately. Having a time period that you're working towards and trying to make sure everything irons itself out before then (Bra being born, where are Whis and Beerus in the end, why should we care about Uub, Pan's age, the appearance of teen Goten and Trunks) is difficult to do and seriously hinders any chance for story growth and interesting events. <- this happened in Star Wars episode 3 when there's all this nonsensical crap that they threw in just to say "see? it all worked, Luke's on tatooine and Yoda is in exile, threepio's memory is wiped and the death star's being built and there's CG Tarkin! isn't that what you wanted fans???" And it just felt shoehorned in, not organic and not natural.

So it's best to just forget about EOZ and what ages they're "supposed to be" and just watch it for what it is: the current year and character appearances as of now. I'm sure in the next few sagas they'll start advancing through the years and Goten and Trunks will grow up. Just give it time.
