I dont' know why you are so irritated that anyone wants to know why. I can certainly see why many don't care for the character, I was just wondering. But I still come back to this response "he's a pedo." Okay, but he's a villain. Is it that you just find that sort of bad guy so distasteful in comparison to murderers that you find it off putting instead of interesting?I dont see why I need to have such a complex reason for liking or disliking a character. Re: Dolltaki
I wasn't a fan of him, and I like a lot of villains. He wasn't overly creepy, but I just didn't get him. Most of the "villains" introduced in the Black Star Dragon Ball hunt were pretty lame, with the obvious exceptions of Rilldo, Myuu, etc.
Re: Videl
I must be in the tiny, tiny minority that likes when her and Pan are considered "bossy".
But back on-topic, I haven't seen it in a while, but I know I hated the last episode of GT, mostly because Pan was... you know, still there?

Yeah, I'd take murderers and psychopaths any day over a pedophile. But you weren't really giving a reason, you just said he was creepy. Michael Myers is creepy as well which is one of the things that makes him a good villain. You also said he was a pedophile. Pedos are grotesque human beings, but that doesn't make for a bad villain. So yes, I said it, but when you didn't give a reason. Now I understand, or think I do. Fictional killers dont' make you a uneasy as fictional pedophiles.Dbzfan94 wrote:ABED wrote:I never once said that.Dbzfan94 wrote:

Thats true. Another reason is that I just felt uncomfortable when we was playing with doll-Pan and you could hear her thinking how gross it was..ABED wrote: But you weren't really giving a reason, you just said he was creepy. Re: Least favorite episode in the whole anime franchise?
This is where we differ, at least in essence. Crimes of that magnitude are all appauling, but in fiction can make for good antagonists. Ultimately that all depends on execution. Dolltaki isn't an interesting villain and couldn't carry more episodes than he did. At the very least, he makes you feel something. As long as a character makes me feel something besides boredom, that's a win in my book. Very few characters, good or bad make me feel any sort of emotion. So to bring it back around to the actual topic, I'd much rather feel disgust towards a character than boredom like I did with both the finales of DB, DBZ, and the fake Namek episodes.Dbzfan94 wrote:Thats true. I'll agree to that. I enjoyed the wedding arc of Dragon Ball, but Fake Namek is so boring that I pretty much tune out or skip altogether. Z's ending while I dont hate is a hug letdown for me.ABED wrote:This is where we differ, at least in essence. Crimes of that magnitude are all appauling, but in fiction can make for good antagonists. I'm actually down with Fake Namek. The worst thing it does is delay such a tension-heavy continuation of the Saiyan arc. Removed from that context, it's fun.

You're not completely alone there, I liked Fake Namek too. I'm rather fond of all the anime-original story arcs; the training for the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai and for Nappa and Vegeta are both some of my favorite segments of the series, and I've sometimes wished that the 10 days of downtime before the Cell Games were of a similar length to those two.

Re: Least favorite episode in the whole anime franchise?
The Saiyan arc definitely set a high-water mark for anime-only content. That and the extended intro to the Boo arc are my two favorites. Mostly because the manga left room for an endless amount of episodic material.Dr. Casey wrote:You're not completely alone there, I liked Fake Namek too. Re: Least favorite episode in the whole anime franchise?
Dragonball: Of the 153 episodes in this series, I like 152 of them. Even so called "filler" episodes were almost all well written and helped flesh out the story more, and add interesting side stories between major arcs. The single episode in this series that I do not like is the one where Goku helps a village out that is being tormented by a couple of motorcycle riding thugs who have a bottle that can magically trap people inside of it. I never could stand that episode, and I usually either fall asleep watching it, or just skip it when I watch the series through. In my opinion, this is the only weak link in that entire series, everything else was enjoyable and entertaining in its own way. The pacing never got too dragged out, and I never found myself hating on any other part of this series. Probably why it is my favorite of the shows.
Z: This series has a bunch of individual episodes here and there that are a real pain to sit through, but as far as large blocks of them go, I think we all know Fake Namek and Garlic Junior were among the most sleep-inducing. There were others, Bulma and the Crab, Bulma and Ginyu Frog, but a lot of the filler stuff that I disliked most was stuff that was intermixed right in with the important scenes throughout the series, which made it more of a pain. Oh yeah, Mr. Satan's pupils trying to attack Cell at the Cell games, that was pretty bad. I can't think of them all, and it has been a long time since I watched Z in full, but that's probably part of why they made Kai anyway. Cut those 291 episodes down to something a little more direct and to the point.
GT: Would probably be easier if I listed the episodes I DID like rather than those I did not. The first episode, second episode, episode where Goku fights Legic, the episode where Goku fights Rilludo or whatever that liquid metal guy's name was, the one where Vegeta is shopping with his daughter and gets attacked by Gohan and Goten, the episode or two where Goku becomes the Super Oozaru and Super Saiyan 4, and the last two episodes of the series. Chunk the rest under "least favorites."
Super: I'm going to give this a temporary judgement pass. I've only seen each episode once so far, on a weekly basis, and with potentially poorly done fan subtitles. I'll wait until a domestic release, where I can watch a whole story arc or section of the story all at once, with accurate subs, and then pass my judgement. Obviously Episode 5 was horrible looking, but they supposedly cleaned it up some for home release. I have opinions about certain episodes, sure, but I believe some of it could be skewed by having to wait so long to get through a whole arc, and I could hate certain parts that actually aren't translated properly. So, I'll wait to decide which are my "least favorites".

"Of" =/= "Have"
Contractions:
-Should have = Should've
-Could have = Could've
-Would have = Would've
The heck does "should of" even mean anyway? Think about what those two words mean individually, and then try to read them back to back in a sentence and make sense of it. Are you forming a prepositional phrase, is "should" a part of a larger grouping, or are you just typing random words based on how you think you hear them used verbally? Perhaps take a moment to contemplate this, and see if it becomes as mind jarring for you to look at as it does for me..

SAME. It was so bad, it took me a week to finally watch it because I hated it so much.Crinchy wrote:My least favorite BY FAR is the "fake Namek" episode, it is simply unbearable! Not only is it a lame plot, it shows Namekian models before, in my opinion, they should have been shown.
What is your least favorite? Can be from DB, DBZ, DBGT, SUPER, or a movie, but it has to be in the anime franchise.

My least favorite is the third episode of the Wedding Arc. I'd take 100 Fake Nameks to destroy it forever.

The original DB is my favorite series, but it had by FAR the worst filler out of all of them. The last few episodes sucked the big one, not to mention those weird episodes between the Baba tournament and the 22nd WMAT. Seriously, rewatch the episode where Goku goes to save the princess from demon land, it doesn't fit in at all. King Wonton's Royal Match and that weird shit with the gourd were no better. And the ice cavern episodes also were pretty awful.
Namek Saga had some pretty crap filler episodes too.
If I had to pick one episode I think it would probably be Goku Goes to Demon Land.

General Tao was a thing...in Mystical Adventure.Krillin1994 wrote:I hate the Dragonball Z dub of the episode where Master Roshi is explaining the history of the Red Ribbon Army to Maron. It created the General Tao, and implied Goku had faced off against Gero personally before.
This was when Funimation were relatively new, but it is just bad.
Yes, Mystical Adventure is an alternate timeline to the main series, but it's not like Funimation was just making up that Tao was a general. Likewise, Emperor Chiaotzu was in one of the DB movies.
