First, do you think Piccolo was happy when he killed Goku during the fight with Raditz?
Second, what do you think Piccolo would have done had he not known that two more, stronger Saiyans were coming to Earth? Do you think that, with Goku and Raditz out of the way Piccolo would try to conquer the world again? What would Piccolo do with Gohan after seeing how powerful he was?

Questions about Piccolo killing Goku and Raditz
Kami is my co-pilot.
Re: Questions about Piccolo killing Goku and Raditz
Yeah he was happy but not really because he actually wanted to defeat Goku not have him sacrifice himself. As far as what he would have done after, who knows. Maybe kill Gohan or allow him to grow up so he could have a challenge later IDK.
Plus he knew Goku would eventually be back with the dragonballs and kamis help so who knows

Re: Questions about Piccolo killing Goku and Raditz
While it took him until some time between Raditz and Nail to stop wanting to kill Goku IMO, I think killing him there had two benefits.
1. Despite the obvious factors of it being a heroic self sacrifice, Piccolo didn't "really beat him on his own" and that it was immediately dampened by the "two more saiyans are coming" I think just in general he found what everyone does that revenge is kind of hollow and unfulfilling really.
And/or:
2. Killing him was at least *somewhat* satisfying, and thus this kind of helped Piccolo "get it out of his system".

Wow, very smart and elegantly stated ideasTobyS wrote:While it took him until some time between Raditz and Nail to stop wanting to kill Goku IMO, I think killing him there had two benefits.

I like this interpretation, it deepens Piccolo's character development even more. These explanations are now canon.

Honestly, with the dragon balls around, I think Piccolo would allow Goku to be brought back to life so he could fight him again.Mr. Piccolo wrote:Second, what do you think Piccolo would have done had he not known that two more, stronger Saiyans were coming to Earth?
