After watching EP 58 preview, I'm starting to think that the supervisor could be Yashima, or at least he is working on it, I saw some shots that seems to be him.
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.
Just watched the episode again in HD and I have to say the first 12 minutes of the episode have some of best animation and fight choreography the franchise has ever seen. I mean, Studio Cockpit-level animation and fight choreography. The Shida cut alone is better than anything I've ever seen in the DB, Z, GT, the TV specials or the movies.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

The only thing I hate about Shida's cut is that everyone is obsessing over it and not giving enough credit to the other animators working on the episode.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

The others didn't turn in particularly good work. Higashide is still running around turning in quickly scribbled out work that doesn't match his work elsewhere. Even though Shida wasn't at his best he still managed to turn in something exciting. All of the other battle animation looks like a house made out of poorly tied together sticks.

These are all great. The entire episode was awesome. From a pure animation stand point, they might not match up to Shida's cut but they're visually exciting at least imo. When someone asks why this episode was so good and someone says Shida it makes me shake my head. Shida was there for like 30 seconds.

They're basic run of the mill action scenes. They're nice, but they're hardly worth talking about.
I haven't seen anyone saying "This episode was only good because of Shida". I think everyone acknowledges that it's simply one piece of a great puzzle.
It's the best part of that puzzle though, so of course it's going to become the biggest talking point. As it should be. I don't think it's all that surprising or anything to get worked up about.

They are still better than a lot of Super so they deserve recognition. And no, not everyone considers it that way. Plenty of people elsewhere obsessing over Shida.

Karasawa and Higashide have been praised to pieces for months now. This is Shida's first instance of key animation on Super. Of course he's going to be talked about more than anyone at this point. I really don't see the issue here.
Jin Inaba did some great work in episode 38, but Tate brought the best stuff, so he gets the focus. Same thing here. The person who produces the best work in the episode is naturally going to get the most attention.

You have a point. I still feel that Shida is being completely overhyped though.

Shida deserves this "overhype." We have been waiting for him to finally do something for Dragon Ball Super and he finally does it after more than one year! So of course we're really hyped and now that we know that he's scheduled to work once again later down the road for the show of course we can't help but to "overhype him" I mean... he's really an excellent animator and he deserves the praise.

I agree, he deserves praise but I still think it's a shame that a lot of the amazing work in this episode is being overshadowed by his 30 second cut. Youtube especially. Just wanted to point that out.

I Made a comment a couple pages back about the appreciation for the other scenes in the episode that looked consistently good, however. The entire first part was really awesome.
I am an Animator, Illustrator, and Voice Actor. Check out MY Animation Thesis! HERE
The episode is rickety and struggling to hold itself together. Awkward poses during and between spurts of animation show off the strained effort from the production staff to try to make an episode better than previous episodes to this point. Nevertheless, Shida Naotoshi's scene is the only one that manages to maintain a consistently high level, however briefly.
This has nothing to do with being a Shida fan or not, it has to do with the others not being able to turn in anything stand-out. God knows Higashide can and has done much, much better.
