That's a pretty bold assumption. It will probably cap the ratings pretty low, that being said, if a more mainstream cartoon channel won't take it, Toonami shouldn't be ruled out.

Not really Toei europe already confirmed they're after a mainstream block for kids.
If it does land on Toonami then it'd probably be like Kai 1.0 where it was already available on BD and it's not gonna matter too much.

It's still not 100% confirmed to air on Toonami yet. But yeah if it does air another 76 days is nothing.

Maybe we will finally get the announcement at the Toonami panel at NYCC next week? It's the last big convention before Kai 1.0 finishes on Toonami right? It may be the perfect opportunity assuming the people attending this panel will be the minority who don't only care about Super and watched Kai on Toonami. Even a small trailer would be enough to get the hype going. If nothing is announced I'm just going to assume the Final Chapters will just begin unannounced after Cell.

It would certainly make a lot of sense. Kai 1.0 is nearing it's end, so it's seems like a perfect opportunity. It was also Toonami who announced Kai 1.0 originally.

Still it's best to assume little until they either say, "BUUSAGA'SCOMINGETHYPED!1!" or "Buu Saga's cancelled. Go home, everybody" and I'm sure they're smart enough not to leave us hanging if little else.

A little off topic, but my TV guide, (Comcast) it has Mr Satan takes the stage and Hercule takes the stage as separate episodes, both in in demand, and it says the mr Satan one says premiered 9/24/16 while the Hercule one (same thing) says 2011 when it was on Nicktoons

Pretty much. I think Toonami might not be aware that Buu Kai is special and will treat it as episode 99.

When is the earliest that a TV guide listing for it would go up? 2 weeks before? Because once I see that listing for episode 99 (or any sort of official confirmation beforehand), that's when I'll truly start to get excited.

Yeah, I couldn't help giving my quick thoughts on this whole long and dragged out discussion (due it taking quite a while for Buu Kai to release). But at this point, I officially feel like Buu Kai will air on Toonami and the first announcement will come in the form of an announcement commercial about two weeks before the Cell Saga ends or something like that (like others have said). Toonami has done a similar thing with both Hunter x Hunter and One Punch Man (which to my knowledge, both still lack home releases from Viz). So, to me - It's no longer about OH MY GOD, THEY'LL ANNOUNCE IT AT A CONVENTION!!! Because obviously, they won't (also, there's no big conventions coming). That's not Funimation/Toei's style. They don't like to get fans hyped. They're more about just getting fans, period - or at least keeping their existing fans content (which is why I still don't get why they'd make a big announcement, but whatever - who cares at this point).

Same, still kinda bummed out TOEI being old fashioned won't just let Funimation release the Blu-Rays. The home releases for Kai 1.0 didn't seem to be affecting its ratings on Toonami, if at all, and it would have been a great opportunity for Funi to take advantage of the Christmas market.

That said in the best (realistic) case scenario I'll get to see the fist episode of The Final Chapters dub and Rogue One on the same week, which is certainly a good thing .
