Mystical Adventure has nothing to do with the actual series though. They did come up with the fact that Tao Pai Pai was a general in the series. The movie shouldn't have anything to do with it.Sailor Haumea wrote: General Tao was a thing...in Mystical Adventure.
Yes, Mystical Adventure is an alternate timeline to the main series, but it's not like Funimation was just making up that Tao was a general. Likewise, Emperor Chiaotzu was in one of the DB movies.

Re: Least favorite episode in the whole anime franchise?
If I can cheat and choose two episodes, than it's both of the ones dealing with Bulma and the freakin' crabs on Namek. If I can't cheat, then I'll still cheat and say the Ocean dub version where they made that into one episode, because I really freakin' hate that bit of filler.
I'm probably biased mostly from the fact that that was one of the first things I saw and it utterly failed to get me into the series at the time, but it's definitely never endeared me to it since either.

According to DBZ Uncensored, the two "Bulma and the crab" episodes were almost completely intact, 95% and 99.9% for the first and second episodes respectively, and the 0.1% of cuts of the second of those episodes consists of two seconds of her flipping the bird from a Pilaf saga flashback. I'm sorry, but making those two episodes into one was something Saban didn't do.Gyt Kaliba wrote:If I can cheat and choose two episodes, than it's both of the ones dealing with Bulma and the freakin' crabs on Namek. IMO the only good thing that came out of those episodes was TFS's Crabplosion song.

Re: Least favorite episode in the whole anime franchise?
Wait, was it really still two episodes in the Ocean dub? I could have sworn they took care of all of that mess in just one episode on that version...huh. Maybe it was only the second episode of it I saw years and years back, and I'm remembering the re-cap covering the first part of it as part of the episode proper?
Regardless, still utterly terrible episodes IMO. I'd take two or three more 'fake Nameks' over them, and that's saying something.

In all honesty, I don't hate Fake Namek. The episodes with the Space Orphans were pure cringe though. I'm not sure what is worse, the stupidity of their leader, or Bulma shooting some scout ship things and killing the pilots on board them. Not only do the scout ships seem unconnected to the orphans, buy we don't know anything about them, and because it was a throwaway filler moment, we never will. If they were connected to Freeza, why didn't anyone check up on the ship that destroyed the scouts? As much as I don't like Saban's censorship of death, changing the scout ships to contain robots was a huge improvement, but not as much as removing the scene entirely .

Not really a big fan of the Great Saiyaman arc filler episodes. Not talking about the Afterlife Tournament, but the episodes where Gohan just flies around stopping criminals. Gets boring pretty fast.

Tao Pai Pai isn't a general in Dragon Ball Movie 3. He refers to himself as the greatest assassin on Earth to Arale. "General" Tao is not in the original version.Sailor Haumea wrote:General Tao was a thing...in Mystical Adventure.

Must be the DBGT episode where Doll Toki plays with pan as a puppet.Crinchy wrote:My least favorite BY FAR is the "fake Namek" episode, it is simply unbearable! Not only is it a lame plot, it shows Namekian models before, in my opinion, they should have been shown.
What is your least favorite? Can be from DB, DBZ, DBGT, SUPER, or a movie, but it has to be in the anime franchise.

Re: Least favorite episode in the whole anime franchise?
This is a difficult question since the quality of the series varies greatly depending on whatever version i'm seeing. The Fake Namek and pre-Ginyu Force/post-Zarbon periods are mind-numbingly boring in concept, but the Saban dub with it's drastically different tone from the original made them watchable (and even enjoyable) for me. Honestly i'd rather watch the Fake Namek stuff w/ the original dub over the "good" filler from later in the series.

The Goku & Piccolo doing a driving test episode. I just can't stand it.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.
