For me either way is fine, I don't have a problem with sound effect translations at all, but some might want it retained like in most fan scanlations.

I prefer the first one (1)! We must be faithful to the original creator :) Sound effect doesn't really important.

The first option makes it clear which speech bubbles are sound effects, and which ones are actual speech. I find it a bit confused sometimes when the sound effect bubbles are overlaid - like page 8, I though the books were saying "nudge". But, the reader may not know what sound is being made, hampering the reading pleasure.

The second option leaves in the kana and gives small, off panel translations. This lets the reader know what is, and isn't a sound effect - and what the sound is.

The third option replaces the 'bubbled' sound effects with English sounds. Making it clear what sound is being made, but perhaps confusing the reader into thinking the books are talking.

The fourth option is my least favourite: replacing both bubbles and graphic sound effects with English. The large, graphical sound effects look great, and become part of the image, overlaying them with text, I believe, detracts from the original artwork.

Yes You are right :) In case of this, I prefer the second option rather. Because there is enough to place a little english text near the sound effects. It makes clear for the reader that this is sound effect and not speech :P
So I thinks (2) is the best!

On page 18, when Goten is looking for where he stands on the 'Super Hero Rankings', the one just above him is "Pete Kobayashi". That made my day. :D

-edit-
-----

Translation Question: what is Pilaf saying in page 14 in the last panel? Looks like a single sound, I assume it's a 'grunt' or something.

Translation Question: On page 19, Goten is flying away, and has some sound effect, but it's not listed on Tatsunoboshi's translation.

I'm missing sound effect translations from before page 10 as well.

(is amazed at how long this thread has lasted)

Anyways, I'd go with option 2 as well, since it makes it clear enough for the reader that they're sound effects (especially if you do what some scanlations do and put a little "*SFX" next to the sound). The first option could be done as well, but it's kinda lazy. Option 3 is also kinda strange, since it combines replacing the easy to replace sound effects with those that are harder to replace, so you just put their english equivalent next to it.

As for option 4, it could be done for some of the panels, but I'm sure other ones would be too hard to do, causing you to be forced to mess with the original art more than needed to be. I've also got a visual showing how bad option 4 could turn out (as done by Viz), but I don't have the time to scan it in. Maybe later.

Whoa another brother? Cool, thank you so much for the translation.
Me and my friends spent loads of time trying to decode everything and now it is all coming clear, Once again thank you so much for translating the comic.
(We thought Goku's brother might have been a demon that "Queen cold" had hired like an assassin)
Aro started to laugh. “Ha, ha, ha,” he chuckled.- Actual quote from Twilight

My group normally takes all the Japanese SFX out and replaces them (ala Viz style.) Of course, that takes a lot of time and a lot of patience. So, I would just stick to what you're doing.

And I'll get to those missing parts right away.

I'm pretty sure the name of Xicor's mother was spelled "Lila".

Haha Suppaman. He wasn't very effective in the Dragonball/Slump chapter.

Wouldn't that be "Toybleman"?

And there's also "98th: Bacterian."

Whoops, didn't catch that one. I didn't see Bacterian there either.

The author is some Japanese person, so I doubt anyone can send him an e-mail unless they speak or type Japanese (like Hague or Horoko) or unless Toyble knows a little English him/herself.
