I haven't seen all 291 episodes dubbed, nor would I ever want to. That's not the show I want to watch, so why would I do that to myself?

Of course, that just completely turns the conversation into another one, so just let it drop where it's fallen and continue your conversation about dub moments that I honestly can't continue to comment on :).

I always liked the big-head Cell Games movie that played during the tenkaichi budokai before the Buu arc. I laughed a lot more during the dub, with the "waves and rocks!" logo and the hilariously terrible acting. (Kind of reminded me of the "Big Green" dub.)

Yeah, but isn't that kind out of his character to say that? I don't really like the heroic speech Goku, which is very prevalent in the Buu arc & FUNi's Saiyan saga redub.

"Release it Gohan! Release everything! Remember all the pain he's caused, the people he's hurt! NOW MAKE THAT YOUR POWER!"

"Say Goodbye!"

(laughs maniacally) "Hunh?" (Gets hit by blast)

"VEGETA!"

"NOW'S YOUR CHANCE!"

"HAAAAAAAA!!!!"

(Ginyu Transformation starts playing)

"I'M PERFECT!"

Just love how Ginyu Transformation plays there.

The Mr. Satan movie part during the Buu/Tournament part is pretty good in English, if for the sheer fact that it's even more ridiculous that time around.

Apart from that, nah. none.

Now that I think about it, all of the Dictator's scenes from Fusion Reborn were funnier in English IMO.

"You won't escape....MY WRAAAAAAAATH!"

Brian Drummond, you crazy sex god.

(Actually, truth be told, I haven't even seen that in Japanese yet....but I just can't imagine the Japanese version giving me chills like the Ocean version does....guess I'll find out when Season 2 comes out).

When first seeing this topic, the first one that came to mind was Goku leaving the tournament with Uub. Faulconer's "Dragonball Z Finale" was PERFECT for that scene and STILL manages to make me cry. (The Japanese scene didn't really seem to move me at all. Although the Japanese end of GT moves me while the dub end does nothing so, uh... It evens out? XD)

As other people have said, the SSJ3 transformation was awesome, the "How Satan beat Cell" movie at the Budokai was awesome, movie 12's dictator was awesome and the fish jumping was purely awesome.

Can't really say too much about anything from Nappa and Vegeta arriving on Earth upto the beginning of the 25th Budokai as the only things I've seen in Japanese between those points are the movies, the TV specials and 4 random Cell Saga episodes. >_>;;

I like the moment in the dub when Goku goes SSJ for the first time better than it's Japanese counterpart. In the dub the music isn't particularly good but it brings up a few different emotions like sadness and anger and it sounds powerful too. But the Japanese version is just too silent and quiet. The music sounds ominous but I didn't get much more out of it than that.

Hm. When posing the same question on myself the only dub moments I can compare to the original for a "which do I prefer more" involve the Ocean cast and the Japanese music (Movies 1-3). Without those things I definately prefer the original throughout all 291 episodes and all the movies.

Hard to believe but true.

For me, its a dub, it wins.

I tried to take the suggestion, and watched an episode on Japanese Dragonball on subs once, and I turned it off 10 mins into the video.

I just couldn't stand it. Goku sounds like a girl, a little "too" girl. The BGM, is like the one's of the Kindergarten Adventure Story Books they play in school for my young new-to-the-world cousin - SERIOUSLY!

Call it the english thing, maybe it is, because DBZ has infact been the only anime I've watched with full dedication. I just don't seem to get into Naruto, One-Piece etc. Its Simpsons, The Family Guy, The DC and Marvel Animated Universe, The old classics like Swat Catz, Centurions etc for me. I've always like the American thing, and guess the only reason I liked DBZ was because its not really much Japanese culture centric like other anime's these days, and ofcourse, Faulconers music - awesome!

So yeah, you can say pretty much every moment in Dub was better than the original for me, even if it has Tien growing an arm or Bardock being a brilliant scientist.

It's the Japanese over the English dub for me everytime, but having said that, I'll always love the conversation between Goku and Dr. Briefs about the cappuchino machine. Corlett and Dobson were great in that scene. XD

I also must say I can really enjoy hearing Funi's Dr Gero, he couldn't be more fitting to play that part.

Besides that the dubbing for Ocean 1-53 was fantastic, too bad it stopped so early and never had good production with it (except the first 3 movies).

Ironicly, I think that's what quite enjoy about Dragon Ball's BGM in particular. Call me nostalgic, but I prefer the wacky, yet epic at times BGM cause that Dragon Ball embodies. Both comedy & action, the music has a fine line for that. Faulconer always crossed me as a really bad X-Men cartoon (except that X-Men was good because it is American). For that reason & out of character dialogues, I can never really think of a moment where I do prefer the dub. A dub's just a dub to me, except that Daemon Clarke is awesome.

On a side note, I think he would make a really good Enel for FUNi's upcoming One Piece season.

I liked Daemon too, but pretty much every guy I spoke to from brittain hated his voice. That I can imagine.

A lot of the good ones have been said but SSj3 Goku was easily better in the dub IMO. The script can be corny at times, but it has its moments (quite a few actually).

I have one from during the Anoyoichi Budokai/Great Saiyaman Saga:

The English voice of the Otherworld Tournament announcer is miles better than the Japanese voice. The English voice actually sounded like a real announcer out of backyard wrestling or extreme fighting to me, while the Japanese voice was a little too high-pitched and cartoony, even for DragonBall.

That said, I still prefer watching anything DragonBall in it's native Japanese, though I will watch the dub more often now with the new Season Set audio.

Hmmm, when Gohan killed Cell, that scene is great. Schemmel does a great job talking Gohan up right before that final burst. And the song "Ginyu Transformation" is perfect there.

Also, I love the scene in the Kid Buu Saga where Vegeta is going to fight Buu for a minute to give Goku the time to power SSJ3 to full. The dialouge between Goku & Vegeta is great....mainly on Schemmel's part.
