It was very damn good, in my opinion. However, the reason I linked to the video I did is because it shows some unused effort sounds (attack screams/grunts/growls, etc.) on his part that were recorded but never used. Apparently, during the recording process he felt like he was close to loosing his voice (which is not surprising, considering that scream!), and so he ended up opting out of the last few effort sounds.
So, in the final cut, since he didn't feel comfortable recording the remaining effort sounds, they simply used Ryo Horikawa's original audio instead. Of course, Legrand's actual dialogue still made the cut...it'd be rather weird for Vegeta to suddenly stop speaking French and start speaking Japanese.
Patrick Borg, the French voice for Goku, reportedly came very close to losing his voice during the recording of BoG as well, but he just managed to pull through, so they didn't have to use Nozawa's screams. Nothing wrong with Nozawa's screams, don't get me wrong, it's just always weird for me to go from dialogue in a dubbed voice to screams with a completely different original voice. Legrand's voice is similar enough to Horikawa's that it's not a...
particularly big deal to use Horikawa's screams, but given how deep Borg's voice in comparison to Nozawa's, the transition in that case would have been jarring.
Gotta appreciate all the screaming these actors do for us fans!
