Why DB Super anime should adapt the Jaco manga

Post by mecha3000 » Wed Oct 26, 2016 2:06 pm

In DB Super, we're introduced to Jaco when he comes to Earth to warn of Frieza and his men. But there's an entire manga dedicated to his origin that would be perfect as material to adapt into a two-part episode of Dragon Ball Super. Toei can literally have it to where Jaco is visiting Bulma - Then, Goten and Trunks come up to Jaco and ask about his life as a Galactic Patrolman and why he originally came to Earth. As soon as Jaco starts explaining: The manga is adapted into anime form.

Honestly, I think this would be the perfect antidote to the Dragon Ball Super "filler" that might be coming our way after the Future Trunks Arc. It'd also be nice for Jaco to get the spotlight and shine outside of the regular DB story (and also more for Jaco's voice actors to do with the character). The Jaco episodes would be a perfect way to explain Jaco's origin and DB Super is the perfect opportunity to do this.

Thoughts?

I'd take that over a filler arc any day.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I couldn't agree with you more.

So far I'd rather have the Jaco manga being adapted over what we've gotten with DB Super really. But this would be the best way to do it now if there was ever a possiblity for it to be on screen. The Jaco appearances on Super have always put a smile on my face.

Pretty much plus very little big actions moments so would fit the criteria really well. 3 episodes would do fine to tied us until Arc number 5 starts.

It should adapt because probably I would get to see Gine on-screen. And it's high time for her to debut on-screen.

That would be a super great use of five or so episodes, and possibly the best part of Super so far.

Though I kind of feel Jaco deserves better than Yamamuro designs and a Sumitomo soundtrack.

True but at this stage I can't see that changing anytime. The Manga is always there if the adaption is bad.

As long as they don't adapt DB Minus I'd be ok with that.

I made a thread about something similar a while ago, but I want 2 or 3 Jaco OVAs

I wouldn't mind having a Jaco OVA, but I don't want him taking up that much of Super... unless they could fit it into 1 episode.

Not possible, he'd have to get a handful to get properly adapted.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I've bemoaned about this in the past, and I think a adaption of the Jaco manga would have served as a perfect filler arc before the Resurrection F arc and it would have also been a great introduction to a wonderfully entertaining character. If there's anything I want the next arc to be, it's an adaption of Jaco The Galactic Patrolman. Why this hasn't happened yet, is beyond me. He bloody deserves it.

Since the 12 universes tournament is most likely the next arc, they could easily have Goku or Vegeta ask Jaco how he knows Bulma and then he just goes on his whole spiel that covers the Jaco manga. Plus, since Jaco wasn't in Minus, they can use that as an excuse to skip it :P

I can see Jaco being his own TV series. In fact I wish it was.

But I know they won't, at least not anytime soon, but I would rather have that than just one "filler" arc telling the events in the manga. Unless of course the next big arc happens to involve Jaco.
