In that vein, Schemmel's scream when Goku went SSJ3 in Movie 12.

Almost two, if I remember right.

In the thread about Fusion Reborn airing on Cartoon Network, I made this post.
Taku128 wrote:I timed the SSJ3 scream on my DVD and counting the scene with Dai Kaio (If you listen carefully you can hear the scream in the background) it was 48.51 seconds, give or take about a second. And Lemmy, Schemmel said he passed out doing SSJ4 on the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 Collector's Edition Bonus DVD. Nozawa's scream stops after 10.36 seconds (Give or take a second) about when the camera stops panning down after the scene with Paikuhan, then after a short pause starts again on the closeup on Goku and stops after 8.15 seconds (Give or take a second), Then theres a longer pause until another closeup on Goku and it starts again and stops after about 10.46 seconds (Give of take a second), then there's a pause until a close up on Goku again and it starts and stops again after 5.97 seconds (Give or take a second). The times might be a little off as I'm only human, I can't start at the exact milisecond it starts and end at the exact milisecond it ends. Also, Nozawa's scream goes into a little bit where theres dust(or whatever the hell it is) blocking the viewer from seeing Goku (It stops about when you can see the tip of Goku's SSj3 hair, but Schemmel's stops when the bright light flashes on the closeup of Goku screaming after the scene with Dai Kaio.

Majin Vegeta calling out Goku to fight him at the Tournament, in Z. FUNimation did an excellent job with that scene. The dialogue that they added, in the places where there were none in the original Japanese version, fit perfectly.

And the short talk they both have right before the battle was another shinning moment for FUNi as well, I think. The dialogue was so serious, like it was supposed to be. Great stuff!

Oh yeah. That part was excellent too. Though I have not seen that particular scene in Japanese yet, so I can't say I'de prefer it over the original. But it had great dialogue in the dub nonetheless.

It's wrong on so many levels as well as unexpected, which made it incredibly hilarious!

I prefer the dub version of Majin Vegeta's sacrafice attack( Final Explosion...i think). I did see the japanese version, that rocked too.

This might've been said but I preferred Funi's take on Krillin returning or some might remember it as "Krillin's in da house"!

I'd have to disagree, my favourite part of the original " Vegeta's atonement " is actually from Kuririn, when he screams Vegeta's name. Mayumi Tanaka did an absoultely fantastic job, and really gets you caught up in the moment. That alone probly' puts it higher than the dub for me.

Masako Nozawa is an amazing voice actress... but I find her voicing EVERY relative for Goku to be quite odd.. especially when Raditz wasn't voiced by her (Plot hoooole).
But in all admitance, Sonny's Bardock rocked the shit.
I agree. FUNi Bardock was awesome. Then again, Bardock is awesome in any language.
QFT.

As for other things I prefer in the dub, as others have mentioned, whenever Goku transforms into SSJ3, and I also really liked the whole scene when Buu's shell reached full power, Faulconer's music and Babdi's VA were both really great there. I'm totally with Grandmaster J on the Majin Vegeta scenes too.

I would say I liked the fusion scene with Goku and Vegeta in the Ocean dub too, mainly due to the music ('The Army Tune'), but I haven't the seen the Japanese version of that scene, so I can't say if I liked it better.

Vegetto in the series or Gogeta in 12?

(Did Ocean do any of the later movies?)

Vegetto in the series, and for better or worst, Ocean didn't dub any of the movies beyond the first three.

Mayumi Tanaka is awesome in whatever role you put her. She's got a great sense of humor in her roles. Same goes for Shigeru Chiba.

I understand, i guess i like it better due to the fact that i've seen that version of the dub so much that i know it well, when i first saw it i was like "damn...." but yeah the original had its good course of drama.

I am a dub fan, i love the japanese version as well.

Oh, I just thought of a good Dub moment. This was in the Freeza Saga (*Le Gasp*).

In the Original Version, atleast the Manga, there was the line:

"I'm a Saiyan. Sent from earth to defeat you. The legendary warrior, with a pure heart awakened by rage. SON GOKU....THE SUPER SAIYAN!!!!"

The Dub however just has one of those classic Dub quotes....I forget it word for word, but it went something like this....

"I am the light in the darkness. I am the answer to all living beings that cry out for peace....ALLY TO GOOD!!! NIGHTMARE TO YOU FREEZA!!!"

Another scene where, in my humble opinion, FUNi did an excellent dubb job was when Goku, and the rest of the gang, first met the Supreme Kai (Shin) and Kibito at the 25th Tenkaichi Budoukai. The first time I heard the Supreme Kai's voice, I was really impressed. That whole scene glued me in.
