I don't want it to happen because fusion is the one of the most contrived devices that was ever introduced into the franchise. In my humble, yet correct opinion, fusion needs to steer into the video game lane and stay there.

Fusion is a great addition, with limitations. Hence, I'm not a fan of the potara version of it.

I'm okei with the fusion of Zamasu/Black Goku because they look different but are the same person with the same motiv but we have seen Vegetto & Gogeta

before so hmm i don't know if i want this to happen...I like to see Future Trunks & Vegeta & Goku team attack him somehow defeat him..

I'm not alone! But as much I don't want to see it's happened to the villains so might aswell the heroes too. Plus a part of me wants to see SSGSS Vegetto.

I've warmed up to the idea now, if it doesn't happen great if it does then I ain't gonn moan about it.

I'd prefer if they didn't either. Not because I don't like fusion, I just think it fits more with the tone of the Majin Buu arc where Goku and Vegeta fused was already teased by having their sons fuse. I'd like to think Toriyama could come up with an original way to end this arc, and I haven't lost hope yet.

I'd rather them not have to resort to Vegetto because I feel like he's so balanced in personality that he isn't as interesting a character as the interaction between Gokû and Vegeta as individuals are.

Gogeta I haven't seen enough of (he barely appeared in Movie 12, and GT Gogeta felt so wildly different from Movie 12 Gogeta - I could swear it was some odd compromise of "We want a Gotenks like character, but don't want to bring in Gotenks himself because ____ " so I'd be interested to see Super bring Gogeta in just to get a feel for his character.


Ultimately, I'm fine if neither fusion appears. I'd like the characters to defeat Zamasu through more creative means than relying on fusion, but if fusion is what they choose then I won't be upset or anything, just disappointed.

They introduced the proper lore to back SSB up, but I agree with you on the others. Just because there are already contrived things in the series doesn't mean that even more should be added.

It's hardly a deus ex machina because practically every time a fusion occurs it fails or has sever drawbacks.

Kibito/Kaioshin's fusion had no useful result, but no negative one either. Vegetto achieved exactly what he intended to from the start, even as Goku and Vegeta. Piccolo's fusions were nothing but helpful, Gogeta defeated Janemba with no problem. The only fusions that had severe drawbacks were Gotenks, who was a joke character to begin with, and GT Gogeta, who was a caricature of Gotenks.

Edit: Also, Majoob. That fusion made Oob immensely more powerful, but his power was never made useful cause GT.

Right, because Goku, Vegeta or Trunks will just pull out some never before seen attack/powerup that'll stop a Potara fusion being is far more interesting.
