Eh, one breather month isn't enough to convince me otherwise. It's easier to fully flesh out a shorter comedic scene than it is to try to cram in a condensed, serious action scene and have the manga read coherently as its own experience. Even a breather scene that's lengthy for what it is could be the result of accommodating the story to the manga's pace and monthly page count.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:Last month, I would have agreed wholeheartedly. However, since most of the last chapter was padding, I think we can assume that Toyotaro has more wiggle-room than we've been thinking.

Nothing was said implicitly that we won't see this match in the next chapter, mateekrolo2 wrote:The bolded part you're using goes against your very point. If Toriyama wrote "Goku fights Black in the present after sparring with Trunks!" Toyotaro would have cut down on other things like the kart racing or his expanded Future Boo arc stuff to accommodate its inclusion. Since its not there, its not in the outline.

Fair point, but unless Toyotaro is gonna do something on the level of the Mafuba shit from the anime where he'll have Black show up, attack everyone, blow up the time machine just for it to instantly get fixed, I really doubt we're going to see this match up happen now.Noah wrote:Nothing was said implicitly that we won't see this match in the next chapter, mateekrolo2 wrote:The bolded part you're using goes against your very point. When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Whatever, believe what you want to believe. I won't keep repeating the facts.HeroR wrote:Change things around can easily mean the order of things so the story flows better. Not removing items like Goku going Super Saiyan God against Hit and doing Kaioken instead because of reasons or key plot points or adding an entire subplot. Toei wasn't going to write a Time paradox if given a choice.
Toyo only said he doesn't charge key plot points. He never said he didn't charge anything. And he's not changing the story by cutting parts he thinks are unneeded if he can still get to A to B.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

It's certainly a matter of belief at this point, as long as Toyotaro, Toriyama or Toei don't go into details and come with concrete examples on where the two mediums differ from the outline or just flat out release the outline like they did the [F] script.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Whatever, believe what you want to believe. Toyotaro's recent interview was certainly a big opportunity to get things cleared up and while he does say, that he doesn't deviate from any major plot point (which logically includes the return of SSG, as the reason for how Goku overcame Hit's time skip is surely a big plot point) doubters will keep doubting, until it is blatantly proven.
It grinds my gears a bit, as we all can see that the two mediums only differ in how they handle the fights until the Goku vs Hit match, leading to the likely scenario, that Toriyama writes down, when characters transform into what forms. This being different in the Hit fight seems a ridiculous assumption (and I don't appreciate claims that Toriyama just wrote "Vegeta is 1/10th of Goku's power for whatever reason").
Unfortunately our conclusions are only the most likely scenario based on the available evidence and that isn't good enough. Even I think that!
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Yeah there were no major differences in the mediums until Toei got ahead of the manga. Logically that would mean Toei makes the major changes from the script
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Or the manga did something different to keep the manga interesting. We know Toriyama gave the manga permission to do its own thing.OLKv3 wrote:Yeah there were no major differences in the mediums until Toei got ahead of the manga. Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Not really. Toyo made a plethora of changes in the BoG arc even from day one. Added Champa in way earlier and had Goku stay in SSG for the entire fight amongst the biggest ones. Another reason not to read too much into his "I don't deviate from Major plot ponts" comment because as I said before they're subjective to him.OLKv3 wrote:Yeah there were no major differences in the mediums until Toei got ahead of the manga. It still pretty much up in the air who changes what, what's in the outline and what Toriyama approves.

I predict that 2-3 episode titles will be leaked at Friday or Saturday

Sabat changed his status to a sun coming out from a cloud, essentially "over the horizon" I guess, definitely not coincidental. Since that is Toei USA twitter got to be that.Nejishiki wrote:Yes.

Huh. So, guess they really did pass up The Final Chapters. Well, it's cool we're getting Super at least. Though, it is ironic the former got canned since it was originally intended for international markets.
