Oka Tatsuya was the top credited animator on the newest episode of Digimon, so him doing animation in the newest ED for Super might not have been a sign of him returning, unless we see him bounce between series.

It's hard to explain, haha. I guess mostly because a lot of people look very highly of him compared to other animators, even the good ones. A lot of people know him by name, but then don't seem to care about the rest. I think I know what you mean. Shida is a man who's reputation precedes him and he really does deserve the praise he gets. That being said it is a real shame when others get ignored because of his presence.

It's always like that. Naruto has a ton of animators, but people lost their minds (me included) when animators of the caliber of Tsuru, Kobayashi, both Yamashita(s) Matsumoto, Wakabayashi, etc appear. But in Toei's case Shida is their best animator by a landslide and he has the most distinctive style. Maybe Tate is the one who comes closer to him, but since he pops up rather frecuently and some people don't like the way he draws the characters...

Honestly, Shida working on Super felt almost symbolic, in a way. He hadn't done anything for the franchise since the One Piece/Toriko special, that cut he did in Battle of Gods was one of the highlights of that movie, he's known for his work on One Piece and Precure, and is one of the most well-known names in Toei Animation, but he hadn't done any key animation in the new Dragon Ball series until Episode 57. Once Super had been airing for over a year.
For me, it wasn't just the fact that Shida made an episode of Super look good, but that Toei was finally able to let him contribute something for Super in the first place. It made it feel like Super's schedule was finally under enough control that they could bring in the big guns without worrying about them not having enough time to bring out a decent cut. Even if that's not fully the case.

I could have gotten into anything...and yet I chose the story aimed at young Japanese boys about martial arts, and later about super-powerful aliens punching each other really hard.

65 art was terrible, just like most of the episodes of the guy in charge of those episodes.
Moving on, 66 is the hope of seeing something we dreamed of with super, I'm pretty sure all the talent focused on 66 will completely deliver.

Content wise, what a fantastic episode. Two epic ki struggles, more fantastic character development in respect of Vegeta and Future Trunks character development, and the rising stakes and feeling of impending doom are really palpable now that Zamasu and Black have fused. I'm a little surprised that they gave Vegito away so thoroughly in the NEP; I would have liked more of a tease. All in all I'm impressed and can't wait for next week.
I didn't see any in that episode.
I can agree with the art being better generally, this episode made everyone into blobs, but I kinda liked it because it moved well.

One suggestion for the layout of future episodes, you should put the episode number of Super permanently under the Super logo and then the text above the clips that are playing should change to say what episode/series it's from.

Most anime only have a single Chief Animation Supervisor (usually the character designer), Super having two has always been a sign of its poor schedule. I don't see the issue with this.
