There is no such thing as "high level play" in Xenoverse 2. Avatar characters with broken builds, SSJB Goku, and the fusion characters are all you'll see online. The fighting system is limited and simple, because Xenoverse is actually a combat focused RPG. I mainly use Bardock and it worked out this game, because he's actually pretty good, but I also like to play as Yamcha, Turles, 16, Videl, and Nail. There's no point in playing them though, because not everyone has the same amount of health and stamina. So, if a character you like isn't on the level of current day Goku you aren't gonna have fun. The net code is also pretty bad and half the stuff they teach you for PvP is useless. All you need to know is how to snap vanish and you're a pro player (it's broken and destroys the neutral of the game).
Casuals eat up Xenoverse though, so that's most likely what we'll get for a long time. I would love a Super DBZ 2, Burst Limit 2, BT3 HD, Extreme Butoden HD, or even a home console port of Zenkai Battle, but none of those will happen.
