As Herms once said about Bog "the dub didn't fix the CG".
Jokes aside funimation has a solid cast so I expect awesomeness. I still hope Sabat would change Goku's dialogues a little bit making him act more like bog Goku than Super Goku.

No. They should adapt the show faithfully.Mazingerdestro wrote:I hope the dub fixes the animation.

I think some revisions and changes are necessary. Completely adapting it would destroy the show for Western audience. They did some minor changes in bog and look how it turned out. By far superior to the source material. If we want to be realistic, you can't adapt everything 100% to another language. Some lines would sound very awkward. "I will not let you destroy my earth" sounds way better than "don't enjoy destruction". So Beerus can destroy the planet as long as he doesn't enjoy it?Baggie_Saiyan wrote: No. They should adapt the show faithfully.
The best thing for them to do would be to change the tone of his lines. Instead of being the... admittedly whiny brat he is, make him a serious brat!Baggie_Saiyan wrote:No. They should adapt the show faithfully.
I'm with Baggie_Saiyan on this one. FUNimation have come a long way from how they dubbed Dragon Ball (Z) since the 90s and I really don't want them to go back into their old and bad habits or rewriting lines and specific dialogue to effectively change the perspective of the character, at least when it comes to Dragon Ball.Mazingerdestro wrote:I think some revisions and changes are necessary. I am not gonna argue because I didn't grew up with the English Dub (I watched it later and appreciate it)and I don't understand why people don't enjoy the cheezyness of the show or why even watch a directly translated from Japanese dub in English when it's 99% confirmed that a direct translation will sound awkward (its not like the Japanese cast isn't good. Everyone is awesome). Having Goku acting all Japanese but speaking English is gonna be weird at least for me.Lord Beerus wrote:I'm with Baggie_Saiyan on this one. And for the record, I don't like the change they made in BOG in regards to his line being rewritten from "Don't enjoy your description", to "I will not let you destroy my earth". It really reminded me in some ways of when FUNimation would back in the day rewrite Goku's dialogue during the original 1999 dub of Z to make Goku more like Superman-esque than he needed to be. I mean, in regards to that scene in particular, Goku is fully aware that Beerus is a Destroyer God, and he's just telling Beerus he shouldn't taking any kind of pleasure and gratification in the destruction that he's carrying out in relation to the planet. That line is more potent and in-character, than the generic "I will not let you destroy my earth". I mean, that does get the same point across but it just feels less poignant.
