Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

He seems to really love Dragon Ball! We need more passionate people like that.
Is Super his first time working on the franchise?
Looks like we will get some "filler" episodes.
It would be great if Toei just outsourced this episodes to another studio, while the main staff focus on the next arc.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.
Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota
I just LOVE the way Beerus kicks Vegeta in this scene. The facial expression, Vegeta's head shaking due to the impact, It looks REALLY good.
Please Naoki Tate, i want more of this!
It's seems like this filler arc might go on for a while. By the episode titles current translations, it seems like there won't be all that much action. From a story perspective, I really want the universe 6 cast to be flashed out, but that probably won't happen. I just hope these episodes are at least serviceable from an art perspective like ep 64(even though there was no animation).
Just inquiring, does anyone here think that this arc in Super holds up (at least in terms of noteable cuts) in comparison to Z, even if it's just quantitatively.
Here's all the stuff that got onto the Booru from the Black arc

Here's all the stuff from the Saiyan saga(surprisingly all from the same episode)

In my opinion this most recent arc does hold up in comparison to some of the arcs from Z if just for how widespread these moments are throughout, even though the aren't particularly long most of the time.

I think most (definitely not all) of the Black arc's cuts are better, honestly. Super does have a lot of things done worse than DB & Z but it's best cuts are some of the best of the weekly anime imo.

This is glorious. Maybe my favorite animated piece in all of dragonball. The power of that first dash combined with the thrilling combat give a sense of both speed and power!

Disclaimer: I might get into a disagreement with you. Sometimes I might even get feisty about it. I'll never harbor negative feelings because of it though. I hope you feel the same way!
I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

This is one of my favorites also. The way Freeza flies towards Goku is so nice. I just wish it didn't get so choppy in later parts, though.
One of my personal favourites is the Piccolo vs Cell cut. I loved the background animation as well as how everything would slow down and speed up, I also liked some of the cool smoke effects and the impact frames around the kick were also a nice touch, my personal favourite scene is Piccolo dashing to followup the kick, only for Cell to stop suddenly in front of him. Great stuff if a little stiff at times. Background animation is something that Super needs more of. I am happy that Super does use some cool rotations from time to time since I'm a sucker for those but I would really like more background animation.
