Just more standalone inbetween episodes before they start the next big saga.

Would they bring Hit back for just a standalone episode ? the new arc will be announced on the 12th or 13th while Hit's episode airs on the 18th so it lines up with the announcment.

If Hit is back then we might get to see U6's Saiyan planet which lines up with Cabba inviting Vegeta there during the Champa arc.

We also know that Hit was trying to go to other universes so this could answer why.

Jump Festa (where the announcement is due to occur) takes place the 17th & 18th - which still lines up with the "Hit" episode, but I don't see the point in revealing it now, they'd have been better off keeping it under wraps until then.
Of course, what they could do, is announce it at the Festa, with more info coming in V-Jump '17 #2 due out officially on the 21st.

That's why I'm thinking the new Toriyama Arc will start in January, and the "Hit" Arc could potentially be a 3-4 episode filler.
The reason it has (if it is just filler) a full page spread is most likely because it's the highlight of the upcoming Super episodes they can reveal until the next V-Jump (potentially revealing more info on the next Arc) releasing after the Jump Festa.

It makes no sense for Hit to be back for one episode and especially one as serious as that. Also everything will have to be checked with Toriyama to make sure it does not contradict with Hit in the future and his techniques.

I don't see why Cabba would be involved, they would go straight to Champa to try and locate Hit or his employer.

The big question is how long will Goku stay dead.

I am also equally excited for episode 70 and 71 simply because of Yamcha

I read that it's called death to Goku, not Goku dies.

Even if that is the title then either Goku beats Hit or Hit kills Goku and the later will almost certainly happen as how will he beat Hit.

Also as I said Champa would be first point of contact as he knows how to get in touch with hit and maybe that is why he is in the episode before.
