Yeah. Black was awesome. Wonder if it's possible to top him. Also curious about what direction the show's taking next.

Re: Is anyone else going to miss Black?
Of course, I will. But I don't need another guy that looks like Goku around.
I wasn't interested in a Evil Goku concept, because that just seemed cliché and we already had Turles. But Toriyama/Toei managed to make Black an awesome character and that made me love him.
I'm glad it didn't turn out to be just a "Goku that never hit his head and remained evil", like some people wanted. We got the best of two worlds, this way
An interesting evil Goku and a character that helps giving depth to Zamasu's character as a whole.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Black was awesome, and much better than he had any right to be. I'll miss this smug dude. RIP Black

Not gonna miss too much but Black was certainly entertaining. And very unpredictable.
Toyotarō: … I get the feeling I’ve just heard something amazing (laughs). Lord Beerus and Whis turn up in Dragon Ball Super, and have become an unsurpassable wall for Goku and the gang. What do the two of them mean to you?
Toriyama: Well… First off, right now I don’t have any plans for Goku and Vegeta to surpass Beerus and Whis.

Well, I am not going to miss him at all. As it was very fitting that Future Trunks had killed him.dragonballgeek wrote:I can't be the only one who thought Goku Black was an awesome villain. I was really hoping they'd find a way to keep him in the series just a little longer. There are so many directions they could've taken him to prolonge his stay that it almost seems like a waste of a perfectly good plot.

I'm gonna miss him. Zamasu/Goku Black is, to me, the best and more foreboding villain since Freeza. But no one tops Freeza for me.

Re: Is anyone else going to miss Black?
I already miss him.
He was really a perfect villain. Smug, intelligent, cold-blooded, super strong. I loved the fact that he always kept his cool even in very difficult situations, while the other Zamasu was a bit too extreme in his manners IMO.
His personality, in fact, deviated so much from the future timeline's Zamasu that i like to consider him as a stand-alone carachter.
Loved when Zamasu escaped from Mafuba and he was all trembling and breathless, Black looked at him with disgust: "Just look at you.."
His fight scenes were awesome, his speech about the universe was chilling: "I come from a much higher place than your's. And i've seen the truth about the universe and everything's in it. Humans are the one and only failed creation of the Gods.
So...in order to make the world, the Universe a beautiful Paradise, i must eliminate humans on God's Behalf, who won't admit their failure!"
Bring him back some way Toei!

Re: Is anyone else going to miss Black?
I thought Goku black was a better villain than Zamasu. He seemed smarter and better versed in his logic which made him more interesting to listen to. When he fused with the other Zamasu thats when he seemed to go down points for me. Where the fusion character seemed to just made Zamasu seem so pompous and delusional that it got annoying from repetition in Ep 65-66 (as Vegito noted). But again it was because he never got the chance to actually finish his plan and just impulsively wanted to destroy everything. Therefore unlike Black who seemed more precariously calm, confident and calculating, I couldnt buy that Zamasu actually knew what he was talking about anymore when he took over. Its a shame. I will miss Black for that aspect of him being the better side to that pair.
Zephyr wrote:The fandom's collective fetishizing of "moments" is also ridiculous to me. No, not everyone needs a fucking "shine" moment. If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.
