I've heard chatter the there may be a price drop soon for North America. And I've heard info the Sony is losing hundreds in the retail price of the PS3 because it takes $800 dollars to make. These are just little things that I've been hearing so I don't know how much truth there is in it. I was hoping to get one in the next few months but if if it does drop i'll be getting it much sooner.Sasuke_Chidori wrote:Sony will drop the price before 3 years. They can already drive the overall cost down since the Blu-Ray diodes are much cheaper now. (Around 100$ cheaper.) I bet we'll see a price drop within 1- 2 years. Bundles are always possible as well.
Anyways, I feel they are creating a PS3 DBZ game, but holding it off for one more year. I could easily wait one more year with all the great PS2/PSP/Wii DBZ game(s) I already own.
A hybrid of Sparking and Saga would be kinda cool. A beat-em up with the control scheme of sparking and maybe some wild 10 player free for all action.

Yes. Add in the ability for 10 or 20 or even 50 enemies to be attacking you at once, make the response time a little faster, and the Sparking! engine would make for a kick ass brawler. Think about it, you're flying along in Namek heading toward a Dragonball when a batallion of Freeza's men pick you up and you've got to mow your way though five hundred of them to get to your destination. And when you get there you go into a one-on-one boss battle against Dodoria who's already there to claim that Dragonball.Anonymous Friend wrote:I've heard chatter the there may be a price drop soon for North America. Or you get to play as Bardock during his mode fighting off the entire Kanassan population, and then Dodoria's men on Meat, and finally Freeza's soldiers on your way up to attack the tyrant himself.

<Kaboom> I'm just glad that he now sounds more like Invader Zim than Rita Repulsa
<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

And your enemies don't randomly disappear when flying into corners...
!
A Bardock game of epic proportions... sounds like a win, especially considering how much room there is for random filler. Like... random... missions and stuff.

Almost every console in at least the past decade has lost money at their debut. Usually, after a year or so the mass production of parts or improvement of said pieces (like the Cell switching to a 65nm chip from a 90nm one) brings down the production costs and causes profit and eventually price cuts. For instance, I believe Microsoft recently started making a profit on 360's (whereas Nintendo always made a profit because...well, the Wii is a fucking Gamecube with a clock speed increase).Anonymous Friend wrote:And I've heard info the Sony is losing hundreds in the retail price of the PS3 because it takes $800 dollars to make.
As someone who just picked up a PS3 this past week...I fucking love it. Granted, I'm waiting for more titles, but the sheer capability of the console (if you like, for instance, taking HD torrents and converting them to watch on your television) and the future potential is pretty awesome. Can Sony fuck it up? Sure, I'm not 100% happy with it (region free backwards compatibility plz and fix the problems with titles kthx), but I happily walked into Best Buy and walked out with one and have yet to regret the purchase. Bring on MGS4 and DMC4 ;p
On topic...give it time. Hopefully, the next DBZ game won't be such a steaming pile of rushed crap. If they take until 2008 or 2009 and make an awesomely badass game, I'll be much happier than I would be having Sparking 3 next week.
How does EX know about this?
It came from me. I'm really the CEO of Atari. Now STFU plz.How does Ex know about this? Where did the information come from?

The wii is twice as powerful as the gamecube (so even better than last gen's Xbox) However a lot of developers keep porting ps2 titles too it. When they stop making ps2 games I bet the wii will be a lot more impressive. It's my favourite console out followed by 360 (I hate ps3 even though I loved psone and ps2.)MajinVejitaXV wrote:(whereas Nintendo always made a profit because...well, the Wii is a fucking Gamecube with a clock speed increase).
Now the part that is on topic. Hopefully the new game will developed for the Wii not another ps2 port. I loved budokai tenkaichi 2 but had it been created for the Wii not just a ps2 port with wii controls , They could of added so much more and improved it a hell of a lot more.
I'm still hoping new game is one of 3 things.
1) A fully 3d legacy of goku type game.
2) Like sagas but good and released in uk
3) a new rpg game that is more like KOTR than FF

A KOTR-esque DBZ game? Nah, I'd take a DB/DBZ game with a DQ VIII-esque map & KH/Zelda style gameplay anyday.SSJmole wrote:

No reason to be rude, thanks. I doubt you're the CEO of Atari. But could I get a real answer?MajinVejitaXV wrote:How does EX know about this?It came from me. I'm really the CEO of Atari. Now STFU plz.How does Ex know about this? Where did the information come from?

Not to be rude or get into anyone's business, but I don't get what XV's being rude about. I'm pretty sure his wisecrack comments are just for the sake of humor. He's done it to other people (including myself at one instant) on more than several occassions, but it never passed off to me as being rude more so than humorous. Corey's just....Corey. Just a thought.
I, myself, am curious of this piece of news EX is gandering on about. Though, I'm pretty sure we'll more info along the way or even in his podcast.

Sebastian nailed it. I've got one of those senses of humor that people might find to be dick-ish, but I'm not honestly trying to tear into anyone. If I was, it'd be much more direct and have less of a joking feel to itSebastian (SB) wrote:Not to be rude or get into anyone's business, but I don't get what XV's being rude about. When I want to play an RPG I want to play an RPG, not an action game that wants to pretend its an RPG. There's nothing wrong with them, I tend to like them (as action games, as they suck as RPGs), but they don't count as RPGs in my book. Turnbased RPGs are the greatest. <3 FFX has the best battle system of any FF for that very reason. A propper turnbased system.Ashuros S wrote:I've never liked turn based rpg's and i dont think it would suit dragon ball to well, i'd prefer a rpg like tales of syphonia or phantasy star online.
And not only do I think a turn based RPG system would work for DBZ, I know it would, because Legend of the Super Saiya-jin rocks. I would seriously love a 3D remake, or even a 2D remake with improved graphics, of that game. Hell, they could even keep the card system and I'd still be happy. If handled correctly a turn based RPG could be made with seamless flow between rounds and still keep the turn based feel.

OFT! I so agree with you. I'd love to see a DB/DBZ 3-D Turn-Based game. However, Blue Dragon is as close as I'm going to get in terms of Sakaguchi & Uematsu involvement.Xyex wrote:*Everything*

The talk of turn-based Vs action-esque brings me back to... umm... what I said earlier about turn-based but with minimal menu-ness, so it could play with a realtime feel... or not, depending on how one plays. That and menus that don't talk or have a font size over 9000 bring me misery. T.T.
... Though really... the concept of expanding and extending and shining up everything across the gaming industry is kind of... Meh, to me. Am I the only person who wants to just put in the game and play it? ^^. Ok, Long and involved games are good if they have interesting stories and stuff... and ok, DBZ is interesting, but... ... ... if there isn't some newness involved that isn't BT style in accessing... ... ... On second thought, I won't finish that sentence.
... and now I'm wondering why XMen Vs StreetFighter won't work in my PS2.
