I seriously don't know how Sonic fans can tolerate inconsistency in Sonic's lore.
A lot of people care more about the gameplay.

Pretty much. Not to mention that, besides 06, most of the other games hardly have any to begin with.

This is the first I've ever heard of this.

A lot of people have said this. I think that some fans are deluded when they say recent Sonic games are declining in sales because of the writing.

Their declining because gameplay sucks.

Iblis wouldn't have been killed, he's immortal. When the Egg Carrier crashed, Eggman and Elise were killed and Iblis was freed.
My mistake, Mephiles can't fuse with him if Elise dies.

Well, Sonic Mania looks to be a return to the good return to the Mega Drive/Genesis days at least.

Looks a million times better than Sonic 4.

I would have one time actually liked this idea, but now, fuck right off with Sonic. Unless Ian Flynn is the one representing the Sonic side, then at least the western quality has a better chance of not being garbage. Then again if it's kept Japanese people only, I'd have some hope. The western side would fuck this up bad if they let Pontac and Graff have their hands on it. If I hear the douchehog make one more shit joke, I'm gonna find a way to wring his neck somehow.

Hearing Junichi as Sonic playing off Masako as Goku would be pretty nice. But hearing Roger trying to play off Sean would just be gratting as all hell. Least Sean got better as Goku over time. It's been 6-8 years, and Roger just got worse over time. It's like listening to a parody Dorkly video, but there it's part of the joke.
No offense, but are you one of those True Sonic Spirit supporters?

If it is of any consolation prize, in Japan Sega's mostly remembered for series like Sakura Wars, Virtua Fighter, and Yakuza instead of Sonic. Heck their most successful system there is the Saturn.

Segata Sanshiro probably did something to help contribute to that.

SEGA should bring back those franchises back IMO. Sonic has been a joke since a decade, an inconsistent joke.
