The wait is over and Dragon Ball is finally back!
The series debut of ‘Dragon Ball Super’ in Asia – and the international English-language premiere – is set for Saturday, January 21, 2017.
But Goku fans around Asia who can’t wait that long can also get a sneak peek on Saturday, December 17 at 10:35am, to watch the full first episode – only on Toonami Asia.
We know the Funimation dub will be coming soon and it's the only English dub that anyone wants. But did anyone catch this 'sneak peak', the so called 'full first episode'? I am asking this from the South East Asians in here
Aside from the two official clips Toonami Asia shared online, nothing. It's not surprising since this might not be the first English Dub of a series exclusive to Asia and never seen online. Shows that suffered such fates include Marvel Disk Wars and Beywarriors Cyborg.
I will say this, effort was put into finding someone in Asia with the capabilities of archiving this broadcast but it ended up being a fruitless search. I was hoping we would have at least seen a few clips, even low quality, surface during the weekend, but we didn't even get that.
It's hard to imagine such a thing happening in this day and age, but this could ultimately be an English Dub of Dragon Ball that never sees the light of day online.
The Toonami Asia YouTube page has put up a lot of DBZ clips so there is a slight chance we could get more clips of the dub on there but judging by how many dislikes the first preview got it might discourage them from doing so.
I only found one person on Twitter who apparently viewed the first broadcast in Asia but when I asked them if they could record I was immediately blocked so... no luck so far.
I haven't seen any sign of a recording of the episode apart from the clips Toonami Asia posted online, I'd love to see it though.
I do have hope that this dub will surface at some point, although I fear some of us may have to venture to the deepest darkest corners of the internet to uncover it if we even will
Only time will tell.....
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula
I am from a South Asian country where we don't have a Toonami channel. We used to get Toonani Asia on cable. But one day they switched to Toonani India and it's been that way ever since

We'll have standards. We'll have quality control. We'll have better information. And I'm sure, people will naturally gravitate to it once there is some substance.
The best way to fix the giant cancer that is the DB Wiki is to provide an alternative for those who really want it. Even those who prefer dub names will wind up looking things up on the Kanzenshuu Wiki. Because sooner or later, they're going to need information they know they can trust.

And no, this wasn't an official upload. Someone actually recorded it and shared it on YouTube!
Not crazy about Beerus tbh. Definitely feels like they're pulling from FUNi there especially in the way he pronounces God. Also using Nozawa's screams in the promo? Nicht Gut.
