How many people are sick of Beerus?
Re: How many people are sick of Beerus?
I'm not sick of Beerus. I'm sick of dangling plot threads:
-the eleven universes we may not get to see because Omni King might destroy then next arc.
-Planet Salad and it's Vegeta-esque King being teased a visit and then never going.
This tournament is going to have to do something amazing to win me over because I am so averse to an arc that takes place in one ring again. While the Zamasu arc wasn't without flaws there was at least a sense of adventure and mystery to it.

I like it that he is essentially the manager and Whis is the trainer/coach and that Beerus and Whis now have a full team in the upcoming universal survival tournament.

Re: How many people are sick of Beerus?
I'm nowhere near the stage of being tired of Beerus' appearance. There's still so much that can done with the character. And while, I'm not particularly happy with him being shoehorned into certain established elements of the story, those cons are greatly outweighed by the positives his brings with how well he mixes in with the main cast, new introduced characters and the fact he has not gimmick beyond being absurdly strong. And other users have already stated, I love the fact that Goku and Vegeta still aren't near his level, because it add that levity to his title as "God Of Destruction" and retains the mistque of the character. We don't really know just how strong Beerus is and half the fun of his character is trying to guess where his limit is beyond that fact that the likes of Whis, Grand Priest and Zeno are much stronger than him. Goku and Vegeta suddenly surpassing Beerus would come the huge detriment of Beerus' character and Super as a whole. Because if Goku and Vegeta become stronger than Beerus, especially after all we've seen so far, who the fuck can challenge those two? I mean, Super is already set during a period where stake really can't that high, and the last we need is for Goku and Vegeta to be so monstrously strong that is become impossible to create a raw and genuine challenge for them without bloating the battle powers even more.

He's one of the best things about modern DB so I'm not.

I really hope so. I want to see them visit so much.sintzu wrote:He's one of the best things about modern DB so I'm not.

I can understand if it was put off because we just had two doppelgangers of sorts in Gokû Black and Jelly Vegeta. If King Salada really looks like Vegeta with facial hair or some slight visual difference then waiting a while for the other two to be further in the rear view mirror would make him feel fresher.

If I'm honest, both his and Whis' one gag about liking food is wearing thin due to overexposure. It hit it's peak in RoF. Probably grown double thin due to both of them having the same overwhelming, all encompassing quirk.
This isn't the characters fault, it's the overuse of the same schtick; Master Roshi is one of my favourites too when he remembers to be more than 'a perverted old man' he's an absolutely amazing character but when he's boiled down to a single tired gag I want to smash him upside the face and remind him of what it was like when he was a well rounded character.
Beerus is much the same way, and in all fairness giving him Champa to play off of has done quite well for expanding him past the selfish foodie personality he was displaying only during the RoF part. I want to explore the character of Beerus more, and that can be done if we don't lock onto a single personality quirk and leave the poor God of Destruction at that.
So far we've had Beerus soften up considerably, even quicker than Vegeta did(although maybe slightly slower than Piccolo) with him showing genuine selflessness to Champa using his victory to do something nice for him and saving Gowasu' life. It's obvious at this point he's pretty fond of the gang too even if he doesn't like to show it. Things like that and Beerus' relationships with the other Gods of Destruction could be incredibly enjoyable to explore, so I do hope they take the time to focus on that in the Universe Survival Arc too.

Re: How many people are sick of Beerus?
No. Beerus is basically the new "main" character of the anime. Dragon ball super talks about the Gods, people like it or no.
Actually in the fandom Beerus is really loved, the few people who hate him are only some Vegeta/Goku fans just because is stronger than them, not because is a bad character. I don't care if Beerus is still stronger, this does not change anything for the plot. Both Beerus and Whis are still neutral characters that Toriyama always keeps away from Goku's problems (the other Gods they have nothing to do with Goku, and for me Goku will never surpass people like Grand Priest etc..). That the two saiyans are no longer the big fish for me is just a good thing. If Goku and Vegeta surpass Beerus now, dragon ball super is ruined.
Of course i want Beerus more involved, but for plot, this will never happen, for now. I think that we'll see more Beerus in action when we'll have an enemy of the Gods/Angels, maybe. Or when we'll see a rematch with Goku.
Now, if i'm tired with food gag scenes? yes. But actually i'm tired with all the gag scenes, especially with Goku "the retarded" and Vegeta "the clown". In this case, it's only Toei's fault.

Re: How many people are sick of Beerus?
Agreed. I'm not necessarily tired of Beerus, but the shtick with the food wore out for me a long time ago. I didn't mind it in the Battle of Gods movie and I didn't think it was bad in ROF. It's in the Super series where I really think they started overdoing it to the point where it's tiring.Akyon wrote:If I'm honest, both his and Whis' one gag about liking food is wearing thin due to overexposure. Well as of the latest episode of Super it is confirmed that Current SSJ Blue Goku is even stronger than his KK x10 SSJ Blue Version during the tournament.namekiansaiyan wrote:We have not seen Beerus at full force, he could probably kill SSB x10 kaikoen in 1 second.Anime Kitten wrote:I completely agree with every part of this. I mean, SSJBKKx10 Goku should be 95% of Beerus at the very least.Alruneia wrote:*snip*
And besides strength, the food stuff can be humorous, but it mostly gets really old. Why do we need to watch him and Whis worship something so tasty for 2-3 minutes every other episode? Ironically enough, I get the most enjoyment out of those scenes when they're closer to how it played out in #69, with him destroying Mashirito after being interrupted.
Both Hit and Goku have grown tremendously since that time in this last year of rigorous training. And yet Beerus is still far above them.

I'm surprised Beerus is in so many of the fillers too. He was in the Arale episode when he didn't have to be there, the baseball episode, the Hit episodes, etc.

I'm really not seeing the problem here. Beerus is a fan favorite. Many people love him(myself included) i see no problem in him showing up during "filler" episodes. If anything i'd demand it. I love to see him and want to see him as much as possible. But i guess people will complain about anything these days.

I enjoy Beerus as a character but it still bothers me how he hasn't been surpassed after all this time. The constant retconning of his power gets annoying and seems very irrelevant knowing that beings like Whis and the Omni-King are beyond Beerus in every way in terms of power.
I think that a fight with Beerus after every arc would be nice in order to gauge Goku and Vegeta.

What? Being a fan favorite does not mean every single fan loves him. While I am among those who do, I don't want to see him as much as we do when Mr. Toriyama or Toei will do nothing with him that's not repeatedly shoving in our faces how powerful he is.GodVegetto91 wrote:I'm really not seeing the problem here. Re: How many people are sick of Beerus?
Beerus is basically the "Vegeta" of Dragonball Super.
Just like Vegeta came out of nowhere during DBZ, after the series had already gone on for years with an established cast and he became one of the most important lead characters of the series....Beerus is the same way. A new character introduced literally decades after the series originally ended and then become a new important lead character and defines the series.
I wonder if this is how original Japanese Dragonball fans felt about Vegeta.

Beerus is one of my favorite characters in Super, I love the funny and positive atmosphere he brings to the show. My favorite thing about his personality is that he's powerful, but not arrogant; like he knows his boundaries. Though he does seem smug and conceited, but I can see how being a God of destruction would make one so.

I don't see how current SSB Goku can be stronger than Kaioken ×10 SSB Goku from the Universe 6 arc. I think it is just Toei making things not make sense as usual.GodVegetto91 wrote:Well as of the latest episode of Super it is confirmed that Current SSJ Blue Goku is even stronger than his KK x10 SSJ Blue Version during the tournament.namekiansaiyan wrote:We have not seen Beerus at full force, he could probably kill SSB x10 kaikoen in 1 second.Anime Kitten wrote: I completely agree with every part of this. I agree there was no need for him in the Arale episode. But for the baseball one, the U6/U7 match was the reason of it! Do you imagine Champa without Beerus?precita wrote:I'm surprised Beerus is in so many of the fillers too. Beerus is the best thing in Super
Just keep Future Trunks out forever and never let him come back...
