Would 16 kill Goku if he teleported to Cell while 16 was fighting him?

Let's say Goku got desperate once Piccolo got stomped and decided to go and stop Cell himself, would 16 immediately change focus and start attacking Goku?

Hmm. This is quite a peculiar scenario. I think, given the fact that Android 16 stated that once the Cell Games ended he was still going to kill Son Goku, he would realised that there was bigger fish to fry with Cell. I mean, Cell was adamant about absorbing 17 and 18, and he wasn't going to let that happen, so I think he would have put all his attention to killing Cell as he was an instant threat to everything, while Son Goku was just one individual that he could tackled at any time, from his perspective.

That, or Android 16 would have gotten the blue screen of death from trying to process with objective had higher priority.

16 seemed able to see the bigger picture and identify the greater evil, or greater threat to nature at least, so I would like to think he would either help Goku to defeat Cell or just wait until Goku had defeated Cell. Then he'd get down to business.

I could see Goku's sudden appearance causing 16 to get distracted, and Cell would take the opportunity to finish 16 with a sneak attack.

If 16 was given a few moments to process things though, I think he'd choose to prioritize Cell's defeat. Goku was vastly outclassed by them both at that point, but maybe his presence would have been the ace 16 needed to destroy Cell, since their strength was about even.

I doubt it. Goku was weaker than the androids who couldn't even put a scratch on Cell. I think that Goku can play a nice support role with his techniques and make a good distraction to help defeat Cell, but he can't take 16 out.

I doubt it. Goku was weaker than the androids who couldn't even put a scratch on Cell. I think that Goku can play a nice support role with his techniques and make a good distraction to help defeat Cell, but he can't take 16 out.

He could get them both with one Kienzan, Cell wouldn't die but Goku could kill him with a Kamehameha while he's still regenerating.
