It would be great if TeamFourStar, once they get to the Buu Saga, manage to get the FUNi actors to play their own parody versions.

MasakoX and Lanipator playing the parodies of Goku and Vegeta in the Cell Games reenactment is the most meta casting ever.

Give the casting director in FUNimation a pay raise for coming up with this.

Chris Sabat's most likely the one behind that. He's really good friends with them, & the DB dub director, so he probably sent them the script, a clip of the scene, & just let them go to town. It would make sense if that's how he did it, since Masako still lives in the UK & only leaves the country for cons & what not. Plus, no lipflaps, so it's like an Alphonse Elric situation where they didn't even have to try to match the Japanese dialogue. It probably went very similar to how Rick & Morty is recorded, where they have a script, but are allowed to go off the rails if they think something else is funnier than what's written, as long as they stay on-topic.

I do feel sorry for the younger generation who're just getting into DB & don't know about the brilliance that is Team Four Star yet, as the meta of that scene, if they see it, will be completely lost on them, but that's what retroactive recognition is for.

Can't. Legally-speaking, the main voice cast for DBZ are legally-barred from doing their DB voices for anyone other than FUNimation due to the contracts they signed with them. Sure, Sabat & Hebert have had cameos in DBZA, but those were only minor & they weren't doing those voices, but still.

I wonder if the Cell Games reenactment is going to be more faithful in the old English dub of DBZ than in Final Chapters, if that video is any indication. I'm fairly sure the original scene didn't have decent voice acting or memes.

It's also Kai, but I'm pretty sure that they maybe gave it the gagdub treatment for that scene, given it's a nice bit of meta 4th wall breaking awesomeness. Getting TFS in on the gag is what scenes like that were MADE for.

So I'm not crazy! I just heard that promo on my recorded DB Super episode via DVR, and was like "Why does Sabat sound like, or is it just...Lani?" I then rushed over here to make sure I wasn't having a stroke.

Wow! It's like a dream come true seeing the teamfourstar actors in actual funimation db. I wonder if they got the whole teamfourstar cast doing their own voices! So cool so happy for them.

Except it doesn't even sound like Nozawa. It's too inconsistent with her normal Goten pitch & a higher one she seems to have picked up somewhere. I wish she'd just pick one & stick with it. I like the softer normal Goten tone she used in Battle of Gods, so I'd wish she'd just use that one.

I agree the BoG one was pretty perfect. I'm fine with the current voice but trying match Nozawa is the only reason I can think of for the change cuz BoG came in between Kai and Super (in terms of when they were dubbed).

I recorded the last episode and just realized there was a line I missed. When the police arrest the Red Shark Gang, one of the cops asks: "Hey, did anyone read them their rights?" I gotta admit, I laughed at that scene. I like when extra funny lines are recorded over something that is pretty much just a filler scene.

Not sure I understand the question. Funi releasing its dub of TFC would have practically no bearing on a complete Kai 2014 OST. That said once the TFC and Super Blu-Rays start coming out, at attempt can be made to recreate various tracks using the English Surround mix, as has been done with GT and the Green Bricks.

That's a lot more definite...probably not at all. As much as I hate to say it, the TV length version of Fight It Out is the full version of the song. Anything more would probably mean a new recording, which in the age of Super is extremely unlikely.

Seeing as Toei's only released Super Sentai theme songs & endings in the states on iTunes, & the record companies handle the songs not owned by them that they use, I wouldn't bet on it.
