Chichi has a beautiful voice in the Saban Ocean dub

Her Japanese Voices are beautiful and while Cynthia Cranz is good her Ocean voice is much better. And NO southern Accent! No GoHAWN here!

Cool. Um... what are we talking about? Your stated opinion doesn't really bring much of a discussion with it.

I liked Ward Perry as Kami the most out of anyone. Does that make for a topic discussion? Check out this great topic, started by The Monkey King:

We can talk about voice preferences there all day long, friend.

I'm surprised someone else is bothered by the "Gohawn" mispronunciation when it's clearly pronounced "Gohan." Surprisingly, the Big Green dub pronounced that correctly.

Like most of the Ocean group, Laara Sadiq is a good actor. She played the role of a stern, old timey mother very convincingly. It's not exactly Chi Chi, but for the version of the character she was asked to portray at the time, Sadiq did a fine job. It also helped that playing such a limited, straightforward role, meant that she didn't have to deal with as many painful lines as the rest of the cast.

I just wanted to comment on that. I wanted to note how different Chichi sounded but I didnt want to make this into a Cranz Vs The Ocean actress. I kind of did anyway. Sorry for the vague topic.

Considering almost the entire staff of FUNimation are from Texas I dunno why they never bothered to apply some southern drawl to Goku, Chi-Chi, or Gyumao. It's not like lame exaggerated accents are beneath them.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

I'm not sure what you're referring to with the second sentence, but the main reason is because they didnt understand it (beyond that they just werent interested), & when their show became mainstream, its not like they're gonna change their main character's mannerisms in that fashion, at least in terms of speech patterns. Script aside that is. & in general, the FUNi dub (& Canadian productions, prelay or dubs) are aimed at national American fans, so they want to speak with a "neutral" accent.

But does that change her irritating personality?

In all seriousness, I haven't watched that dub so can't comment on it, though sometimes it happens, a voice actor does strike a character so good and beautifully with great pronunciation it leaves a mark

I think her voice definitely adds a warmth to the character that somewhat soften's her pushy side, which was missing in Cynthia Cranz's portrayal. Having said that, the Japanese VA(Can't remember her name) also had this, so I guess it's Funimation's fault. :P
The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

I disagree. Cranz can definitely pull off the warm / loving mother.
