I can tolerate Schemmel's Kaio, he may miss the mark with the more serious aspects of the character but he does goofy Kaio well.

That said Michael McConnohie is the better fit and when I think of saving graces of the Bang Zoom dub he comes to mind.

Why's everyone's panties in a bunch about the difference between "God of Destruction" & "Beerus the Destroyer"? "God of Destruction" IS his official title, no one's disputing that, but "Beerus the Destroyer" fits as an alternate name given by lower life forms. Is this another translation change that people hate, or is it just something new?

Quite a few people do. FUNi use it in their subs too so Destroyer is pretty consistent throughout. I don't particularly mind at all just wanted something consistent they flip flopped in the BoG movie.

Overall, I'd say this episode was fine, but the movie worked better for the majority of the comedy, since it was faster-paced. I feel some of these lines were better-written though, even if the other 95% of them were ported straight from the movie's script. Realistically, Super should've started from Resurrection F, since BOG worked great as a movie whilst Resurrection F felt very rushed, like it was a Kai version of the arc that even cut out what was in the manga just to get down to the action, which is weird because the Super manga is running in-tandem with the show based on the outline Toriyama gives the anime staff & Toyotaro &, if I'm not mistaken, skipped over that arc, right?
The dub is just great. I find nothing wrong with it outside of Edwards' Goten continually being too inconsistent with the voice tones she gives him.

The dub of episode 5...was pure badassery. Sean Schemmel is a monster at power yells and Beerus had some incredibly cool deliveries. Shout out to the scriptwriting for being super entertaining.

Sean did a killer job. His casual Goku is down to a tee now. So many great funny lines too! FUNi certainly salvaged episode 5 the animation didn't bother me at all.

God, Sean is just the master at yelling and screaming. He killed it in this episode. Jason Douglas also continues to do wonders as Beerus. I also found Vegeta's Yamcha line hilarious and so TFS inspired.

Great scripting, great acting... keep up the great work FUNimation.

It was absolutely terrible, doesn't fit Goku at all. I don't know what's with Schemmel always giving Goku's more advanced forms a gruffer voice.

Nozawa doesn't do that. She uses a more serious tone sometimes, because the situations involving SS3 or SSB Goku are mostly serious, but the voice is still the same. It's fine if you want to differentiate the separate forms, even though it's unnecessary, but what Schemmel does is awful. A rough, gruff voice doesn't fit Goku. Is that his default option for a serious tone? Because it's the same exact thing he did with Black in the videogames and he's terrible too.

Nobody said this. But, if you want an answer regardless, if you're dubbing something, it's best it resembles the original.
