Thanks for clearing this up, I was always interested in characters height difference
Broly is bigger than either. He is about 8'6 (260 cm) tall. See the M10 height chart, where judging by Goku's height each line seems to represent 25 cm (Goku is 175 cm)
Wow, Broly is a giant! But wait, 8'6 in his LSSJ form, right? What about his base?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

His base form is on that chart and his head seems to come to a few cm below the 225 cm line not counting his super puffy hair- so I guess he'd be ~219 cm/7'2.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Check out the latest height comparison from ep 75. There's a guy who posted the screenshot in the avatars thread.
Edit: lol nevermind about the last part as I can't recall where the screenshot was posted

Yeah, that's the image I was talking about. Did you find it in another thread?
I could have sworn I saw it earlier today in one of the many threads, that had been posted in, since my last visit, but I can't recall where and I for some reason thought you posted it in the avatar thread

I did post it there, but I went back and removed it after thinking it over.
Also that image is from DBS episode 76, not 74.
Does MasakoX have an account here, because while I was looking at old threads a couple months ago, I saw an avatar similar to his. If he does, can somebody link it?

The best way to fix the giant cancer that is the DB Wiki is to provide an alternative for those who really want it. Even those who prefer dub names will wind up looking things up on the Kanzenshuu Wiki. Because sooner or later, they're going to need information they know they can trust.

Super congratulations to Zito! I just read someone anonymously donated him $10,000.00!! That's amazing. I hope it helps him get to Texas to be with the rest of TFS that's already down there.
I imagine having an additional editor living nearby will help with dbza.

Some one donated Zito 10,000.00 Dollars? When did this happen, where can I find his reaction? And congratulations Zito!

I don't normally plug my own stuff, but I recently did an interview with Kaiser, and I thought some people here might find it interesting. We do talk a bit about DBZA and what it tries to be and its place in the fanbase in general.
I could have gotten into anything...and yet I chose the story aimed at young Japanese boys about martial arts, and later about super-powerful aliens punching each other really hard.

I read it happened to someone else too a while back. There's apparently some guy out there donating big to videogame streamers.
Zito is just the sweetest thing alive, even when he got that amount of money, he didn't even want people to give him money in fear of wasting their back accounts. I can't wait to see where he ends up.

Hilarious as always, and they even had Sonic Sez with Cell i will never understand however, why SEGA made every character but Sonic slow? In old Genesis games, everyone was equally fast, and had different abilities

Kabooms old quote basically answers this question perfectly if we apply it to Sonic.

Gotta ignore most of previous Sonic events and rewrite the story even as we're telling it, all to make Sonic the bestest.
But the thing is that Sonic now in his base form is already stronger than anyone else. So why continue to omit abilities from other characters?
Because it's not enough for Sonic to be made more special. Other characters have to be made less special in turn.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
