The filter was still there. Also if Crunchy roll isn't working, just reload until it does. I can usually get it working in less than a minute .A Man named RJ wrote:It's Saturday: know what that means? I have No HD version of the episode yet (maybe later tonight) but I must ask: did they completely remove the filter like in the NEP from last week? or was it reapplied?

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

You're right. I described it as conservative because of the fight's direction and the use of looped frames but there was actually a lot of animation regardless. I was caught off guard the second time I watched it by how much there was there, I clearly went in presumptuously based on the preview last week.Ajay wrote:I really don't agree that this week was conservative. Looped animation doesn't mean something is conservative; it's how you execute it that determines that. This episode may loop in places, but it's changing to new angles a lot; there's plenty of dodging, cool movement, and wonderful effects work. The section towards the end with the cool rotations that leads into the Kamehameha really is great.

Btw, just watch on Daisuki. 1080p no ads.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 79
This episode had really good animation imo. I wouldn't really call it conservative just because a there were looped frames when fighting. There were still a lot of cuts an drawings, even when they did loop the fighting. If every fight in the tournament were on this level I'd be impressed tbh.
But I thought more fans would like this episode tbh. I think that just because there wasn't anything super crazy or experimental going on doesn't make the animation less enjoyable to watch.

Maybe, they had a lots of animators working on another episode. I mean, Ishitani tweeted that the schedule improved a lot. Maybe, there's a bunch of kind-hearted freelancers working on it. Well, another thing is... This is wanpack. Wanpack episodes always looked good and on-model, I guess they're going with it.Ajay wrote:I really don't agree that this week was conservative. Not at all.

Stacks on stacks of drawings across both halves. The total opposite of conservative. They really put a lot of effort into it. Sure, it didn't have balls to the wall S A K U G A, but it was still very nicely done. There's far more animation here than last week.
But, I still have good hopes in it. Personally, what I liked from this episode is the consistency.
Episode 66 have a bunch of styles in it, it's pretty weird. But considering the schedule is bad....
I'm bad at English and still learning. If there's anything wrong, please correct me.

Seeing how light Ono, Tate and Ishikawa's work was (also Tate and Ishikawa are on the bottom of the list) I'm guessing they just pulled those guys in to do some quick corrections, so I'm not gonna worry. Probably nothing more than a few days work, if not less.JazzMazz wrote:I knew I spotted some of Tates octagon noses in this episode, I think he mainly did scenes where Goku was talking with the Supreme Kai about the fight, its a little worrying that his working here.

Wanpack's episodes aren't inheirently good or bad. It just depends on the time given to the key animators. As for the Tate thing, I agree that it isn't anything to worry about now, I just hope it doesn't becomes a recurring thing.Gashif Aldi wrote:Maybe, they had a lots of animators working on another episode. I think the more casual side of the fanbase will love this episode. I can't remember the amount of times that I heard requests for good repeated animation .nite_jay wrote:This episode had really good animation imo. I really appreciated how much expressions characters were showing in this episode. That was the most enjoyable part for me. Also, the art in the second half was really good. Even though I liked the last week's episode more, this week was still really solid for me. Only thing bringing it down for me is the first half, in which the styles kept changing, plus some really weird art of gohan.

About Hideo Yamazaki, maybe Yammamuro and the schedule improved. Attracting buttloads of animator.
Just sayin'. I'm not smart.
But, the fact that Dragon Ball action is always flying crazily, and shoot beams everyhwere (also a bunch of punches everywhere) is pretty abstract.

Also we can agree that there were interesting angles during the episode. The storyboard was nice!

Could be that or the new directors, and I do agree if DBS had a decent schedule it would attract all sorts of animators, since animating Dragon Ball would be a battle animators playground.Gashif Aldi wrote:About Hideo Yamazaki, maybe Yammamuro and the schedule improved. Man, Gohan was so pretty this episode.
Those Tumblr fan-girls are probably overflowing with screencaps.
Lavender was surprisingly on-model as well, for a design so unorthodox.
I expected this quality for the next fight, but it seems like 81 will not impress. (judging by the preview.)

So the effect that was applied in the NEP last week didn't appear in this episode and also didn't. appear as an effect used specifically for NEPs. So can we write it off as a mistake then?
Hearing that we had someone from BONES makes me interested in learning what he did. The most "unique" cut in this episode was by far the kamehameha scene with Gohan falling back in the end

Agreed. Bergamo's giant transformation is probably going to result in some boring action. We'll see, I could be wrong and they could have chosen some of the worst parts of the episode but based on past previews, they tend to do the opposite.Yomi wrote:I expected this quality for the next fight, but it seems like 81 will not impress. Yes, I actually thought that too. But, can anyone call a Hideo Yamazaki expert? If there's some..Mazingerdestro wrote:So the effect that was applied in the NEP last week didn't appear in this episode and also didn't. appear as an effect used specifically for NEPs. Because I'm really curious.
Is he one of the top credited there?

The "falling back" was Manabe according to Ajay (quite hard for me to spot him there, unless he was corrected or he corrected something) but the truth is that part one of the episode didn't have anything good to talk about. Other than that I have no clue what a person who worked only once (considering he indeed have enough time) could provide. Unless of course he did something small.Gashif Aldi wrote:Yes, I actually thought that too. But, can anyone call a Hideo Yamazaki expert? Some of this stuff is really nice when it's isolated.
It reminds me of episode 39.
Sorry about them being from Tumblr.
Feels like there's a little less follow-through, and easing; but still nice either way.
Not a lot of awkward shots like 39 had.
It never ceases to amaze me that you can just pan a background sideways while having your characters do crazy acrobatics and the suspension of disbelief is retained.
