Gap Battle #1: SSJ2 Pre-Teen Gohan vs. FP Perfect Cell or Ultimate Gohan vs. Super Boo
I'm starting a series of gaps for you to decide which one of two fights had the bigger gap between the fighters from both fights. Now what fight seemed more one-sided to you?
I think Ultimate Gohan vs. Super Boo was more one-sided. If it wasn't for Boo's hax regeneration and near infinite stamina then he wouldn't be able to walk for weeks
Now... choose...

I'm pretty sure this should go in either the "Versus" thread or the Power Levels thread, but I'm not sure which. Because the importance and consistency of "gaps" is almost entirely a fan-contrived concept.

Yeah, Gohan could have won if Buu hadn't been stupidly overpowered. Actually, I think Gotenks could have won if not for Buu's regeneration so then Gohan wouldn't have had to win.

SSJ2 Kid Gohan vs Cell was the bigger gap.
Re: Gap Battle #1: SSJ2 Pre-Teen Gohan vs. FP Perfect Cell or Ultimate Gohan vs. Super Boo
Seeing as how Gohan still got some few hits in on Gotenks Boo, who was quite literally twice as strong as Super Boo, I would be willing to say that the gap between those two is stronger and would absolutely decimate the other gap in mortal combat, potentially planetbusting in the process.

Re: Gap Battle #1: SSJ2 Pre-Teen Gohan vs. FP Perfect Cell or Ultimate Gohan vs. Super Boo
The gap between Gohan and Cell always seemed particularly monstrous and stunning to me, and I feel like people forget how unbelievably overpowered Gohan became at the Cell Games just because of the guide's stupid multipliers for the Super Saiyan forms claiming that SSJ2 is only a 2x boost. But either the multipliers are inconsistent with the story, or Gohan also had a rage boost at the same time, because there's no way he was just twice as strong. He was much weaker than Cell at SSJ1, then transforming alone made him so strong that Cell couldn't even see him.
I don't think it was ever shown that Boo couldn't see Gohan, so I'd say the gap against Cell was even wider (meaning Cell got one hell of a Zenkai)

Gohan wasn't much weaker than Cell as an SSJ. I think people overrating Cell might be a bigger issue. I doubt he was much more than 20% of Gohan before he went SSJ2.nickzambuto wrote:The gap between Gohan and Cell always seemed particularly monstrous and stunning to me, and I feel like people forget how unbelievably overpowered Gohan became at the Cell Games just because of the guide's stupid multipliers for the Super Saiyan forms claiming that SSJ2 is only a 2x boost. I disagree with both of you, but instead of wasting time debating that, the important point is that the gap between Gohan and Cell was large enough that Cell could not see Gohan. And like I said, I don't think the same was true with Boo.YajirobiTheGreat wrote:TheUltimateNinja wrote:Suppa Snipajin Goddo.

That doesn't imply a large gap at all, Goku had a much better speed feat against the Ginyus and Ginyu estimated his power at only 60,000. And Goku and Piccolo Jr. were both too fast for Kami to see and the gap between them and Kami at that time was 1.5x at most. And Post-Daimao Goku couldn't see Popo even though the gap between them was definitely less than 1.5xnickzambuto wrote:I disagree with both of you, but instead of wasting time debating that, the important point is that the gap between Gohan and Cell was large enough that Cell could not see Gohan. Also, in early DB Kuririn was unable to see Roshi's punches until he really focused. And Goku was unable to see Yamcha's moves. And Roshi was unable to see Post-Karin Goku's suppressed speed. And nobody besides Tenshinhan was able to see 22nd Budokai Goku's full match level speed.

Re: Gap Battle #1: SSJ2 Pre-Teen Gohan vs. FP Perfect Cell or Ultimate Gohan vs. Super Boo
Gohan and Cell's gap always seemed to be the bigger one to me. When we see SSj2 Gohan smashing Cell around effortlessly, landing hits so hard that Cell's body actually cracks apart rather than just regenerating without a scratch, and even causing him to barf up Android 18... that's Gohan holding back in order to draw out the fight and properly punish Cell. Even holding back like that, he's still that far ahead of Cell. If he'd been actually trying to kill Cell right from the start the fight would probably end up looking a lot more like his fight against the Cell Juniors.
So yeah... regular Perfect Cell is not even anywhere near SSj2 Gohan's level during the Cell Games -- even Super Perfect Cell falls far short of the full strength of an uninjured, raging SSj2 Gohan, considering how even Gohan with a broken arm can still pull off a Kamehameha powerful enough to overwhelm Cell's Kamehameha (with a bit of a distraction helping out) and go on to completely vaporize Cell.
Plus, both Cell and Buu got a boost that roughly doubled their power (assuming that "Super Perfect" is basically SSj2, and that SSj3 Gotenks was roughly equal to Buu's power)... but the results of that boost were very different between them. Cell only powered up to "enough to hurt Gohan if he was caught off guard" level, while Buu went from getting smacked around near-effortlessly by Gohan to overpowering him pretty quick.
So yeah, Buu was definitely closer to Gohan than Cell was.

But none of this proves the Boo gap was larger. If Boo was capable of seeing Gohan while Cell wasn't, than it's as simple as that.TheUltimateNinja wrote:That doesn't imply a large gap at all, Goku had a much better speed feat against the Ginyus and Ginyu estimated his power at only 60,000. Gohan couldn't fully tank Cell's hits, though. When Cell managed to land a punch on his face Gohan's body shifted quite a bit and he also drew some blood.Pantalones wrote:Gohan and Cell's gap always seemed to be the bigger one to me. I myself said in my post up above that Kid Gohan vs Cell was the larger gap, what I'm disagreeing with is the notion that SSJ2 can't be a 2x boost.nickzambuto wrote:But none of this proves the Boo gap was larger. Re: Gap Battle #1: SSJ2 Pre-Teen Gohan vs. FP Perfect Cell or Ultimate Gohan vs. Super Boo
I have a difference of 1.25 times the battle power for SSJ2 Pre-Teen Gohan and Full Power Perfect Cell and the same for Ultimate Gohan and Super Boo. It's no considerable gap, but it gets the job done, which is to show a character standing over the other. Any more than that would make the other numbers way too bloated.
Gotenks Boo - 12.8
Ultimate Gohan - 8
SSJ3 Gotenks/Super Boo - 6.4
As you can see, when Gotenks joins Boo's power, he's not well over Ultimate Gohan to allow another battle power. This is not how I usually operate though.

Re: Gap Battle #1: SSJ2 Pre-Teen Gohan vs. FP Perfect Cell or Ultimate Gohan vs. Super Boo
Given that it talks about a difference in power, I'd say it would better suited for the Power Levels thread.Kaboom wrote:I'm pretty sure this should go in either the "Versus" thread or the Power Levels thread, but I'm not sure which. Anyways, I'd say the difference between SS2 Gohan and Perfect Cell, and Ultimate Gohan and Evil Boo is pretty much the same. Gohan was completely untouchable in both scenarios , though based on their later power-ups (Cell becoming "Super Perfect" and Boo absorbing Gotenks), Gohan is probably less than twice as strong as them.
