So what would you do? If the con he was attending was not in your state, would you fly to another state(or for those of you in another country, fly to another country) to attend the con, even if it meant going by yourself, just to meet him?
And when you got there, at what lengths would you go, to actually get an autograph? Let's say the con staff held a raffle to get an autograph from this historic icon. You pulled your raffle and discovered that, as unfortunate as it is, you did NOT pull a winning number. BUT....another guy, who did pull a winning raffle ticket, saw how distraut you were and offered to sell you his winning ticket.....for $2000!!!! Would you pay him for it? $2000 is a lot of money for you, and would probably break your bank, but it meant an autograph from AKIRA FRIGGIN TORIYAMA!!!!!!! Something you know you'll never have the chance to get ever again! Would you do it or just pass?
OK, let's say you were at the con and had planned on taking at least a few snap shots of your idol. The camera you own takes the most beautiful, vivid pictures you've ever seen in your life. It is especially good photographing people. Unfortunately, your expensive camera drops and breaks. There is a Circuit City like 20 miles away from where the con is being held, that sells the same camera and is priced at around, say $1500. You COULD buy the camera but it would put an enormous burden on your financial situation and cause you to sacrifice paying for things that urgently need paying for. BUT....it meant you got a spankin new camera and could maybe...just maybe, get your picture taken with the legend himself in a rich, vivid and lifelike photograph. Would you go to CC and buy the camera?
How irrational would you go about the whole thing?
