With a Double Layer BluRay disc (50 gig), we could have about 9 hours of HiDef video. The average DBZ movie is 45 minutes, right? Well, we could have ALL the movies on 1 BluRay disc, or just to make sure, two discs.

On another note... if anyone here planned on buying ALL the widescreen box sets, would yo do so now knowing full well they will be releasing them in BluRay in the future? (because you know they will!)

Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Well, besides the Bly-Ray exclusive mistake, the inclusion of only two of the three Broli movies, and the other problems, this is better news than the season sets.

Let's look at the positives: Since we're dealing with the movies now, there's less of a chance that FUNi'll screw the aspect ratio up. As long as FUNi gets the framing correct when the crop it to 16:9, they can't lose. I just hope FUNi doesn't do something stupid and crop the movies to a wierd ratio, like 2.35:1 or something (Holy crap, that would suck, but I know FUNi's not that stupid.... I hope.). If they don't, it's a win-win situation for fans.

I'll wait and see if they include the Japanese music in the dubs and how the so-called "remastering" of the movies themselves turn out before I even consider buying this. There'a a chance the picture quality might be a little bit better. Didn't somebody say a while ago that there's a chance that the "missing line" problem from the season sets might go away if the show was uncompressed for DVD and released on Blu-Ray?

Slightly off-topic: I noticed that nobody mentioned the announcement of a "Lost Episodes" boxset. I figured people would be happy about that. I know fans have been begging for one.

EDIT: Plus, better season three artwork has been posted, for those who are interested. http://www.aaaanime.com/item/DVDs/FN02245.html

No. With a 50GB disc, it would be 4 hours of 1080p video. The first Broly movie is 70 minutes and the second one is 45 minutes. Total of 115 minutes, which means that Funimation will be putting this double feature on a 25GB Blu-ray Disc. Of course all three can be on one disc, but Funimation wants to rip us off like they did with single releases years ago.
