Well, besides the Bly-Ray exclusive mistake, the inclusion of only two of the three Broli movies, and the other problems, this is better news than the season sets.
Let's look at the positives: Since we're dealing with the movies now, there's less of a chance that FUNi'll screw the aspect ratio up. As long as FUNi gets the framing correct when the crop it to 16:9, they can't lose. I just hope FUNi doesn't do something stupid and crop the movies to a wierd ratio, like 2.35:1 or something (
Holy crap, that would suck, but I know FUNi's not that stupid.... I hope.). If they don't, it's a win-win situation for fans.
I'll wait and see if they include the Japanese music in the dubs and how the so-called "remastering" of the movies themselves turn out before I even consider buying this. There'a a chance the picture quality might be a little bit better. Didn't somebody say a while ago that there's a chance that the "missing line" problem from the season sets might go away if the show was uncompressed for DVD and released on Blu-Ray?
Slightly off-topic: I noticed that nobody mentioned the announcement of a
"Lost Episodes" boxset. I figured people would be happy about that. I know fans have been begging for one.
EDIT: Plus, better season three artwork has been posted, for those who are interested.
