I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Looking back, the Trunks arc was a mixed bag and doesn't have the repeat value I thought it would've. I couldn't get past the whole thing cause it was so damn boring. #47 and #66 are still good though. The first 3 arcs are absolutely dreadful, some isolated highlights aside.

Music and SFX still continue to not impress me. Animation quality varies which is understandable for a long running show - but, some consistency is needed. Beers and Whis have become pretty one note as characters and have nothing new to offer. Some of the gags are repetitive as hell and some of them fall flat(Gokuu kiss thing).

I can't rate the current arc now. But, there are some positives like the new OP, Ishitani's ED which is now replaced but still and Gokuu's been pretty awesome so far. Hopefully, they won't screw up the battle royal.

Overall, DBS is 80% trash, 20% fun. I give it a 4.5/10. Below average.

Hate to say I told ya so... because I told everyone so. Everyone was so hyped up when it was still going on that they couldn't realize how bankrupt the arc was of actual substance.

Yeah that, arc felt padding and boring in the beginning and was it necessary to have 3 trips,I couldn't even rewatch some of the episode, like the #18 and trunks one, and the one with trunks learning the mafuba

Hmmm... Let's see.
BoG - 6/10
RoF - 3/10
Universe 6 - 7/10
Future Trunks - 8/10

An average of the downtime episodes would be an 8/10, which brings me to a 6.4/10. Serviceable.

For the sake of it:
Pilaf - 8, 21stTB - 8, RRA - 7, 22ndTB - 7, Piccolo Daimao - 8, 23rdTB 9, downtime 6/10 => 7.5/10. Very good.

Saiyan - 10/10, Namek - 8/10, Androids - 5/10, Buu - 7/10, downtime - 5/10 => 7/10. Good.

Black Star DBs - 4/10, Baby - 5/10, Super 17 - 4/10, Shadow Dragons - 8/10 => 5.2/10. Just fine.
Check out the videos below, made by yours truly!

I'd say around a seven to eight. It's flawed, but it hasn't pissed me off since the RoF arc, so all around I've been enjoying it immensely.

BoG - 7
RoF - 5
U6 - 7
FT - 8
US - 7
Fillers - 9

7/10 pretty enojoyable and consitently good (enough) since Champa Arc.

Whenever the shows decides to break power level hierarchy, it bumps to a 9/10.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

The BoG arc had bad pacing and anti-climatic battles, the RoF arc had that as well, but times five, coupled with terrible animation and art and plot hole and inconsistency galore; it's the worst arc in the history of DB. The Universe 6 arc was an improvement, but squandered the opportunity of bringing something new to table. While instead opting for a tournament, with only two ok fights, and poor writing. Now the FT Arc is without a doubt better than those previously mentioned, but the arc candidly speaking is just flash; no substance. With all that said I would rate DBS 6/10, and that's only because this current arc is off to a good start.

If I was to judge Super purely on every arc except the current Universal Survival Arc, I would probably give it an overall rating of 5/10. It's not bad, it's just not good either. It's right in the middle.

We start with the retellings, which don't need to be a thing and majorly drag Super down. I'd probably give Super a 6.5/10 if it had just started from Universe 6 arc.

The BoG arc was obviously the better of the two. I hear everyone say that the Goku vs Beerus fight in Super is better than it was in the movie, but I honestly have no idea what the hell those people are talking about, but maybe I'm on drugs or something since I'm clearly the minority. Otherwise the arc is nothing to write home about. For me it's worse than the movie in every single way, and the fact that they could have made an alternate version of the events but chose to mostly just retell the movie with miniscule changes makes the entire arc pointless. 4/10

RoF arc, I think everything about it has already been said. I hated the movie, but the movie looks like a godsend compared to the flaming pile of shit that is the RoF arc. 2/10

U6 arc was the first real original arc of Super. Overall I think the general consensus is that it was just "okay". Some cool characters and cool fights, but that's about it. I'd probably give it a 7/10 though, it served its purpose.

Future Trunks arc...oh man where to begin. I was really hyped about this arc at first, I couldn't wait to see the next episode, couldn't wait to see what would happen next. When I saw SSB Vegito in that NEP, I was so incredibly hyped for Super, it was crazy. But then episodes 66 and 67 happened...Let me just say that without episodes 66 and 67, this arc was a really solid 8/10. A lot of inconsistencies and plot holes, but it was fun and it felt like Dragon Ball. Factoring in episodes 66 and 67 though, which is the ending of the arc, and that 8/10 drops to a 5/10. It was quite possibly one of the worst written endings (to an arc or a series) of an anime that I have ever seen. It did not feel like Dragon Ball, it did not feel bittersweet, I just don't know what the hell I was supposed to feel. Like, what was the intended reaction to this? It just felt like the writers roped me in, and then when I was just about at the finish line they dropped the rope and sent me flying off a cliff.

And now to wrap things up, the Universal Survival arc so far has been very promising, and I feel like with the new color palette/filter, new opening, new title cards, new everything, that it feels like they're trying to "rebirth" the series in a sense. But the question is, will it stay good, or will it pull another Future Trunks? A Battle Royale is something that has never been done in the Dragon Ball franchise before. It could either go horribly, or great. We'll have to see.

Factoring in the Universal Survival arc so far, I would give Super a 6/10.
It's enjoyable to watch, and I look forward to it every week, but it is absolutely riddled with bad and lazy decisions that keep getting in the way of what should be a great series. If I wasn't a hardcore Dragon Ball fan, I don't know if I would watch this, and the fact that so many "casual" fans are voicing their absolute disdain for the series should also make us question how good the series is if we weren't giant fans of the franchise.

BoG (Retelling): 5/10
RoF (Retelling): No (6/10 if Episode 27 alone)
U6: 6.5/10
Future Trunks Arc: 8/10
"Fillers": 8/10
Current Arc: 7.5/10
Overall: 8/10

For reference:

Dragon Ball: 8/10

Saiyan Arc: 8/10, Namek/Freeza: 8.5/10, Cell/Androids: 8/10, Buu: 9/10, BoG (Movie): 10/10, RoF (Movie): 6/10

GT (Pre-Shadow Dragon): 3/10, Shadow Dragon: 6/10

I've been having a blast with Super, I look forward to watching it every week. I loved the Future Trunks arc despite how controversial it was, I probably would've given it a 9/10 if the Vegetto fight wasn't so damn short.

3/10 for Super up until the Champa arc.
9/10 for the Black arc onwards. That's when I got hooked in a big way. Zamasu's a fun villain, Yamcha's baseball episode, a focus on some characters aside from Goku, Vegeta and Bulma, and the meeting of the other gods.
This current arc is shaping up to have the potential to fix all the little things I disliked about Dragonball Z with the sudden emphasis on teamwork, strategy, skill, experience and not an overfocus on Super Saiyan forms at the detriment of everyone who doesn't have magic DNA and an obsessive focus on nothing but raw power.

Fascinated to see how they'll use Roshi and Tenshinhan now.

The BOG retelling was quite good despite its problems. For the most part, the Super retelling was better than the movie itself, and I freakin love the movie. Super's BOG arc fleshed out Beerus' character better, provided more lore than the movie did, gave screen-time to more characters than I expected, handled the fights better, the SSJG ritual was far more impressive and the ending was much less anticlimactic and fit in more with Beerus' character. However, there were some concepts in the retelling were really fumbled with. The movie handled the Pilaf Gang much better, the soundtrack was also superior, the movie also developed Goku's character, the movie had more well-timed comedy as a whole, the pacing during the SSG/Beerus portion of fight was not that great and of course there was... Episode 5. Which unfortunately Super will never live down. Regardless of the major misfires of Super's BOG arc, it was a decent arc, and did its job of retelling Battle Of Gods to a practical standard - 6.5/10

The Resurrection F retelling was abysmal. I can honestly say without hyperbole that it's one of the worst things the franchise has ever produced and I will always be belligerent towards its existence. It's absolute horse shite. It's utter bollocks. It's a waste of time and effort. The brief titbits from Vados and Champa are what ultimately kept me going during the dark days of this arc. All the padding and additional material that could have benefited the film in retelling it into an multi-episode arc went into the wrong areas for the most part (Ginyu-Frog, Gotenks, Piccolo dying) and in the areas it should have went into, it was handled poorly (Gohan, Tagoma, the Z-Fighters vs Freeza's Army, Jaco, Vegeta attaining SSJB). Damn near everything in Super retelling of Resurrection F was very lackluster compared to the Resurrection F movie. From animation, to music, to fight choreography, to use of characters. The final episode saved this arc from being Super 17 arc level bad. Do yourself a favour and watch the movie instead. The film doesn't have great writing but at least it was fun and entertaining for the most part and I didn't wish for the experience to just end out of tedium with the whole thing. 2/10

The Champa/Universe 6 arc was really entertaining, despite it basically being a throwaway tournament. I hated how Frost's character was wasted, Goku vs Botamo was disappointing and the summoning of Super Shenlog could have/should have been better. There was a bit of a rough start but it got so much better as it progressed. Hit vs Goku was phenomenal, the beatdown Vegeta received from Hit was one of the best the franchise has ever produced, Magetta was a wonderfully charming and unique character, Champa stole the show with everything he did or said, Hit was awesome in all regards, the lore provided was the best since the Saiyan arc, the ending was brilliantly handled and Omni-King was adorably great. I originally called it "one of the best arcs the Dragon Ball franchise has ever produced", and after re-watching the arc from start to finish... it's not. It really isn't. But nearly everything about this arc, from the fights, to the comedy, to the character interactions, was really good and kept me well engaged. - 8/10

The Future Trunks arc. Oh man. What a roller-coaster this was. Re-watching the arc has done it same favours but it has also really highlighted its glaring problems I already had with the arc. The power scaling is so fucked up, there was never an explanation for what the hell Future Trunks Raging SSJ transformation was, the constant time hopping gets old real fast, the time paradox origin of Goku Black is ridiculous and nonsensical and the Genki Dama sword is absolute bollocks. However, the good vastly outweigh the bad, in my opinion. I was dismissive about the idea of "Evil Goku", but Goku Black delivered in spades. Zamasu was a fantastically written character as a whole and the best main villain Dragon Ball has ever created. The development of Future Trunks was fantastic and how he integrated with the cast and the new members of the central cast was wonderful. Episode 66 will always remain controversial, but for me, it was the most entertaining episode of Dragon Ball ever. Even though it had so many moments of nonsense, but dammit, it was the right kind of nonsense. Like the "put your brain at the door and enjoy the fireworks" kind. I loved every moment of this episode, and for me, it remains Super best showing yet. And the ending was a total shocker but was also heartbreaking and surprisingly heartwarming and made me go through emotions that I had never gone through before when watching Dragon Ball. The arc has some major issues but it's Dragon Ball's most mature arc by leaps and bounds and, in my opinion, the apex of storytelling in the franchise. It's not the "Best arc in the franchise", as I originally thought after watching the arc the first time around, but the Future Trunks arc still kicks major ass after repeated re-viewings and is among some of the best arcs in all of Dragon Ball. I have a hard time thinking how Super will top this. - 9/10

As it stands, Super is a solid 8/10. The current arc is really good and shows a lot of promise, but the show overall still has many rough edges.

EDIT: Since people are bringing up filler episodes, I might as well add my two cents on them. The only filler episodes I've found to lack any really quality was the Copy Vegeta shit. And thankfully it only lasts three episodes. But even then, it was an absolute slog to get through and the ending of the mini filler arc left such a sour taste in my mouth. Fortunately, all of the other filler episodes have ranged from decent to just flat out great like. The Baseball episode being grand highlight. What a riot that episode. Hell, some of the most entertaining episodes in all of Super and Dragon Ball as whole to be quite frank, have been the slice-of-life/cooldown episodes. In think that's where the writers seem to have the most fun and/or are given the most freedom.

EDIT 2: For the record, the quality of the filler episodes does indeed solidify my rating for Super being an 8/10 show.

ReBoG: 7
Training filler: 9
ReF: 5
Prep-for-Champa: 7
Champa: 7
Jellygeta: 5
Zamasu: 8
Post-Zam Fillers: 6
OmniTourny so far: 5

I go up and down depending on the arc. Zamasu arc would be higher if it ended one ending sooner (I wanted Future Trunks to get the kill).

-Overall I was happy with ReBoG (I will never forget you, amazing ep 14).
-Training filler was amazing I would watch a whole arc of Whis teaching Gokû and Vegeta. Also Gokû's kool-aid wall breaking and the cool animation style of Vegeta cooking for Whis.
-ReF was meh. They removed my favorite bit from the movie and production was a mess.
-Prep-for-Champa includes the amazing green sofa bit, the tragically short RoSaT training, and surprise beard!Geta with beard!Ku.
-Champa promised a lot, only delivered on half of that, but when it did deliver it did well.
-Jellygeta felt too GT to me.
-Zamasu and more so Gokû Black were amazingly fun villains. So 美しい. I had so much fun theorizing on Gokû Black's identity. Rosé scratched that modern shounen itch. That mess of an ending was the arc's downfall. Too many endings with an unsatisfying resolution.
-Post-Zam filler was hit or miss. I do enjoy Yamcha.
-The Omni-tournament; I'm not having fun currently. None of the new characters interest me so far. I don't like the Omni-Kings in general. I don't care for domestic Vegeta. I'm not a big fan of tournaments. I like having an antagonist like we had most of Z. Arc's not over yet so things may change.

BoG bridging- 8/10
BoG arc-6/10 (Some genuine good stuff like SSG ritual, the fight for the most part, overall watchable)
RF bridging-9/10
RF arc- 2/10 (Horrible art, terrible writing, what an opportunity to improve the movie and every time it looked like they did they squandered it, give Tagoma some CD then strip it away with Ginyu, get Goten and Trunks involved then make them un-involved and then the pointless Piccolo sacrifice)
U6 arc-5.5/10 (Terrible writing, boring fights only picked up towards the end and got saved by that epic SSGSSKK and all the world building)
Post U6 arc stuff-9/10
Copy Vegeta arc- 7/10, (yes I found it way better then the U6 arc.)
Trunks arc-9/10 (Great villains, bought the suspense back, has Future Trunks, also gave us the best cut in any DB show and the best animated episode).
Post Trunks arc stuff-7/10 (Great Saiyaman was really bogged these down those were the most boring eps ever. )
U6 arc so far- 10/10, (Went in with absolutely no expectations based off of U6 arc and they have done everything I imagined oppositely lol)

Overall about 7/10 seems fair for Super, it's a pretty average anime but a pretty good shonen one, overall satisfied.

Breaking it up into five categories:

- Story:
The broad strokes of what each arc does is interesting to me. The execution, on the other hand, is pretty consistently terrible. Characterization is also poorly done.
1/2

- Animation:
There are some great highlights, but on average it seems to be pretty mediocre.
1/2

- Voice Acting:
Barring Yanami's health problems and unfortunate resulting departure, the voice acting has been pretty spot on I've thought. Nozawa's Goku Black was especially great.
2/2

- Music:
Sumitomo's score is on average really bland and boring to me. In these 2 most recent arcs, though, there's been some stuff that I liked.
1/2

- Entertainment Value:
I'm still enjoying this weekly ride. At the same time, I'm not too eager to revisit the vast bulk of it.
1/2

---

Overall:
6/10. 60%. That's a D from me.

BOG: 7
ROF: 2
Champa: 5
Black: 8
US: 8

I'd give my overall for Super so far a 6, mostly because of all the new rules and retcons they've suddenly pulled. The art and animation could use a step up too, but it's been quite consistent lately so that's a bonus.

Let's see... two subpar movie adaptations (one mediocre at best and the other is fucking awful), a meh tournament arc, an okay-ish arc that almost could've been good if it wasn't for the blatant pandering and middle-finger worthy ending, and the current arc is hella frustrating... with a bunch of fluff episodes to top them off.

Overall, it gets a 4.5/10.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I find it very ironic that you praised the Champa saga, through the arc didn't have a real villain and is your run of a mill typical torunament where nothing happens.

Overall, it gets a 4.5/10.
Fluff episode,I never heard that term,I need a explanation
well since everyone is rating the db franchise I decided to join
      DB: pilaf 8/10,21 Budokai 7/10,rra 7/10,22 Budokai 8/10, daimao 7/10,23 Budokai:8/10, overall I give DB a 8/10
meanwhile in DBZ: saiyan:9/10, Namek:8/10,cell:6/10,Buu:6/10, overall I give DBZ maybe a 8/10 just because the manga made Namek and cell more tolerable
          lastly bog:8/10 meanwhile rof:5/10
