Yeah and that's completely okay..
Nudity is fine when it progresses the plot, pointless nudity should be avoided, getting character nude for the heck of it gets the show to turn into fairy tail

Didn't they already censor dicks in Kai? So I would expect that but I will expect jokes to be in tact they casually mention Bulma's boobs quite a bit in Super and they're not holding back on Roshi either.
no, not in the uncut version. I don't think.

kai gets a bad rep because of the 4kids blue popo stuff that gets circulated, but that's not the real version.
Kai actually censored dicks in all versions, due to stricter Japanese broadcast standards

Super needs more:

* Shirtless Son Goku.
* Blood & battle scars.
* Bulma fanservice.

It's not like they're real people going through real shit. There's nothing morally wrong about getting off from fictional characters' expenses.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

I guess it also helps that shows like DB Super tend to mostly stick to the status quo. Whatever happens one episode is almost never going to have lasting effects in the next. Pretty different from real life, I imagine.

You must have great memory to recall them not showing shirtless Goku in the last nearly 90 episodes. But I can't recall seeing that either.

The original Drasgonball had so much crude sexual jokes, sometimes they revolved around Kid Goku's naivety which was hilarious. But it's 2017, and a new era of PC.

Nudity doesn't have much need for the current anime.

For brief comedic moments, it was somewhat okay. For example, Bulma in a towel.

Another one that I'm surprised people don't remember is Beerus standing up in the bathtub pool without a towel, which was appropriate because we were being introduced to the character in his daily routine.

Original Dragon Ball made them funny though; Akira seemed to have a knack for squeezing a ton of laughs out of stuff that would normally be pointlessly crass in other works. For example...

----------------

Goku: "AHH! Bulma! Your BALLS are missing!"

Bulma: "What?! The Dragon Balls?! *proceeds to run to where they are, not realizing that Goku had taken off her panties*

----------------

Like, that stuff's funny! You've got your comedic irony, you've got the brick joke where Bulma flashes Roshi while STILL not realizing Goku took off her panties, you've got charming naivety by Goku, and you've got hilarious lines that are just a BLAST to say out loud; it's good stuff.

Then on the other end, you've got Dragon Ball GT, where Pan gets turned into a doll, with multiple extended scenes of Dolltaki giggling about how much he wants to take off Pan's clothes, and that's... :sick: :sick: :sick:

It's like with Toriyama, the jokes came first, and the crassness was just incidental. I have a feeling it would be the exact opposite with anything Super puts out; so if they want to be PC, that's fine by me.

Oh man you're bringing back memories. That one time where Roshi showed Kid Goku 2 pictures of 2 ladies, one was not very good looking to say the least and the other was stunning. Roshi asked him, "which is more beautiful"? He stared blankly at the two pictures, then said they were both equally gorgeous. Just the way he said it and Roshi's reactions were funny.

Or when Krillin brought magazines to bribe Roshi to train him quicker. Or my personal favorite, when Kid Goku sees one of Bulma's magazines, and sees pictures of naked women, he goes "I feel bad for those girls. They must be poor. they can't afford any clothes" :lol: :lol:

I don't want to see any sexual fan service, but I do think Super needs a little more battle damage... everyone tends to look pristine for entire fights in Super and it ends up being a little sterile.

I liked seeing Goku's gi getting slowly wrecked in the Frieza arc, it helped illustrate how intense and long fought the battles were.

I'm not sure what PC has to do with anything, but there are a number of sexual jokes in Super. Bulma's saggy boobs, Goku popping into her shower and her bedroom, Goku shaking "hands" with the Galactic King's tentacle-penis, etc. There are also things we've never seen before like open-mouth kisses and pregnant bellies. There's even blatant non-canon ship service, up to and including Whis's suggestion that Vegeta was pregnant. (This is a thing in Kakavege shipdom; I half-suspect Toriyama introduced Saiyan incubators in DB- so people would stop sending him their art of prego Vegeta.)

Can confirm we've yet to see shirtless Goku, though his ROF gi was fairly revealing. We've seen shirtless Trunks, when he was healing from his injuries in ep 63, but they seem to have gone out of their way to make it unsexy. (He looked pretty skinny, and his bandages almost constituted a shirt.) The only major battle damage to clothes we've seen is when Vegeta jumped in front of Trunks to take Merged Zamasu's blast in ep 65, just before the fusion.

Didn't Bulma call a squadron of hookers for Roshi in that one episode focused around Shenron's last wish?

Honestly no, because any fan service with the girls is just set up for pervert gags. Roshi and Oolong's running gag of being perverted became tiresome back in Z. The fact Roshi's allowed to return as a somewhat respected well rounded character again is a good thing.

Battle damage, as many have said however, is fine and welcomed.

I wonder how much the international market is influencing Toei when it comes to stuff like this. Dragon Ball content has always had to be censored to some extent in almost every country that it's been localized in but that was usually back when it was being made with primarily a native Japanese audience in mind. Kai 2.0 was supposedly made largely due to international demand so they're bound to be thinking of these markets just as much as their own when making new content. Perhaps they're aware of all the effort that goes into censoring their past products and are now trying to help mitigate that by toning it down themselves. I mean, aside from just nudity, has a controversial looking character such as Mr. Popo even made one appearance in Super? If not, I doubt that's just an oversight, it's most likely deliberate due to the influence of the international audience and their distributors. I'm pretty sure franchises like Pokemon have veered away from their Asian roots over the years in order to make the products more internationally friendly, Dragon Ball is probably going through something similar.

It seems to have more to do with evolving censorship norms in Japan, and the new time slot for Super (Sunday at 9am). Our standards have eased up while theirs have tightened, though of course their late-night programming is a different story.

He has made a few appearances, including this past episode (85).

I guess an inverse explanation could be they made their gi out of stronger materials?

Nope. I mean... battle damaged uniform is cool and all, but that nudity nose-bleed humour? Nah, don't miss it. I never really liked that stuff.

For me, DBS needs to deliver on the action, humour, characters, animation and story. Don't care for nudity. It adds nothing to me.
