It depends on the storyboard artist. If I'm not mistaken plenty of storyboarders in the industry practically use stick figures, while others have detailed art that is practically episode quality.emperior wrote:

No wonder Toriyama was almost quitting Super if he really supervises every storyboard, he basically saw Super's schedule collapse in front of his eyes.

It looks like someone pulled a Picasso and threw some drawings together.Tanki wrote:Storyboards for Super have just been put up for auction:

For reference here is a precure storyboard that is fairly comparable to the Super 65 one.

I'm not super knowledgeable about storyboards, but that 49 one does look incredibly messy to me. 65 is probably messier than most anime storyboards, but I think it gets the point across for what's supposed to be happening a lot better than the one for 49.

SSJ2 Goku looks amazingly drawn in episode 90. I'm so happy my favorite transformation is getting some love.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 89
While in Super's case it's more than likely down to the terrible schedule, storyboards being very scribbly looking isn't that uncommon in the industry. It often depends on the artist' approach, some will go with very detailed drawings (https://twitter.com/Yuyucow/statuses/715277408950226944) and others may go with the more scribbly ones that get the point across (https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/29876).emperior wrote:Is that even normal those storyboards look that bad?

Drawing ability is also a factor, quite a lot of storyboard artists simply aren't very good at drawing, since they come from backgrounds as production assistants and the like rather than being animators.

This ssj2 shot looks "exactly" like one from episode five.HybridSaiyan wrote:SSJ2 Goku looks amazingly drawn in episode 90. I'm so happy my favorite transformation is getting some love.
I can't wait for the episode to be released and to compare these 2 to see how much better the show looks now.

WTF is this censorship?! We reached a level where Roshi can't even get nosebleeds and we get smoke instead. He had one in episode 3. This is ridiculous!
Other than that, I iked everything.
Tenshinhan's shirtless looked ripped.
Both Nashizawa and Itai are great additions to the supervisors. I'm curious to see how much they will evolve.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 89
Now I know the tournament is gonna look good, they've been doing nothing but outsourcing and giving episodes to support animators. When the tournament starts, I expect most of the episodes to be full on in-house. (Or a least seem like it was) Really when you think about it, the schedule has been quasily building up produce-production with all this outsourcing. Since it looks like the the outsourcing will continue until June, you can technically say that Super will have 6 months of preproduction time. Even some of the high production episodes like 79, 80, and 86 had some outscoring. Am I right or wrong?
I'm getting the 6 months because we've had 2 months of filler and it's been three months since the arc started.
