Budokai 2 Theme Stuff~~

From what I understand (and I haven't confirmed it, 'cuz I haven't played the game in a while), the American version of the game lists the theme song as "Go For It!" (with some possible variation on the capitalizations).

The original Japanese title of the song is "Kusuburu Hâto ni Hi o Tsukero" ("Light a Fire in Your Smouldering Heart")... rather, this is what the original Japanese versions lists it as in its ending credits.

Thusly... personally, I refer to the American instrumental version by its name, and the Japanese vocal version by its name. Makes sense, I guess. Anyway, yeah... if someone can get their hands on the Japanese / European version of the game, I'd be more than happy to walk you through it. I have no interest in taking another site's encode; I'd like to do my own from the actual .adx ripped file.

Still find it odd that this wasn't released on some single in japan. Such a good song and according to CDJapan it's not in any of Hironobu's latest albums...

Any idea why did they actually stuff full versions of the songs into the game? Are those played during the credits? Cause that's about the only place I didn't check, the single player mode bores me

to make things easier when looking for what ADX you want to rip, here's a plugin for winamp for playing ADX files without converting them.

Anyway, I started downloading the DVD, I'll let you know if I find the full vocal version in there. I'm downloading a whole dvd for one song. one. I don't even have a dvd burner to make some other use of it

Cool, because I checked today, and Budokai 2 was out.

A thought: The Japanese verison of Budokai 1 has the Cha La intro, right? Well, what do they play over it? The original version? The original in stereo? A shortened version of the instrumental used at the end of the game on all versions? What?

Oh, and this has bugged me for ages, but is it Kageyama Hironobu or Hironobu Kageyama in western format? I've got stuff where it's printed both ways, even in contradiction to the other names in the file info. The Cha La Budokai intro lists it as Kageyama Hironobu, but on the download pages, his name is Hironobu Kageyama. So...which one is it? I am confused and scared.

Given name: Hironobu
Family name: Kageyama

There is a little romanization convention about eastern names that exists to avoid this confusion, but it isn't very well-known in the west: If you leave it in eastern order, write the family name in all caps. I have all of his mp3s labeled with "KAGEYAMA Hironobu" in the artist tag. If there are no caps, it's supposed to be assumed that the name has been westernized. Personally, I like to leave names in eastern order, since they don't flip western names over there.

The first two lines of this post probably would've sufficed without my rambling.

Actually, that would be very handy. It's often frustrating reading Japanese names when you have no idea whether the name has been westernised or not.

Although I notice that no-one ever write "Toriyama Akira".

But on the other hand, nobody writes "Goku Son."

Or "SON Goku," for that matter.

True. Although I put that down to the fact that "Son Goku" is said about a billion times in the series. Probably the same reason why "-jin" has stuck more with DBZ fans than amoung fans of other anime shows...because it is said constantly.

So...does the Japanese Budokai play a new version of Cha La Head Cha La? Has no-one got it? And if not, why not?

Actually, I very recently started saying SON Gokuu... I've been doing everyone else's names like that for a few years now, so I figure it was time to become fully consistent with myself.

Sometimes I say TORIYAMA Akira, too.

Hey, I haven't liked Triple H in years. But I've been using this as an online alias since 2000, and my only other options are Magikarp46 (silly), SSJ7MrPopo (much sillier), or my real name (too formal to use everywhere).

The only difference is that it makes it unquestionable that Son is his family name. Of course, there is no confusion there, and everyone already knows that. But for the sake of personal consistency, I should say either "SON Gokuu", or "Gokuu Son", and the latter is clearly yucky.
