Another Dragonball Reference in New Anime

Post by Magic Saiya-jin » Tue Aug 07, 2007 7:22 am

In Episode 3 of Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei, two of the main characters do the fusion dance choreography.

You can see the clip here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=JBCkhM_29uo

Another nod to a great work.

It's essentially a new comedy anime from Studio Shaft. It just goes to show how much influence Dragonball has over anime.

I'm'a save this video, and show it next time I shoot down some DragonBall-hating anime snobs.

Hey there's also a Dragonball homage (or maybe just a rip off) in a videogame called "Last Blade". I didn't want to start a whole other topic for it so I'll just post it here.

This character named Kaede powers up from his black haired form to a stronger blonde form. I was only able to find the animation for his power down however.

Unless you've played Power Stone, you know not of HUGE Dragonball references. :P

Yeah I had Power Stone 2 a long time ago, I can't remember what you're referring to however.

I've actually been watching this anime for a while now (A friend suggested it), and I like it. I discovered that fusion reference all on my own, and thought it was a nice thing (What Kaboom said earlier about using this against nay-sayers).

Anyways, cool stuff.

I've only played Power Stone 1, but I believe he's referring to Wangtang. When he gets the 3 stones, he gets gold and shoots energy blasts. And to top it off, his super move is like a really big spirit bomb. At the time I first played that game, I didn't know they could get that big so it was a surprise.
