He knows Goku would keep his promise but he can't say the same about people from other Universes, there's nothing stopping Quitela from destroying him if his Universe wins. That's Backstabbing 101: You don't trust anyone unless you know them really well.

And what about his alliance with Frost? Where does that go? They can't both stay alive... Also, if Freeza goes and Yamcha comes, Freeza can't act like he was faking everything to help Universe 7 because then they'd be 11 memers and against the rules.

Not every member on the team has to be equal to Goku in strength, but you need significant POWER in order to win this tournament. There's no if ands buts about it.

I was also just thinking it shouldn't be allowed for that reason. What if someone was okay being erased themselves to save everyone they love? What if I entered the tournament for U11 and just pushed them all off the stage as an act of treason to help my universe?

Also isnt Yamcha like.. retired as a martial artist? whats he gonna do there? Tien got jobbed by base Gohan so hard that I dont even wanna imagine what could happen to Yamcha... isnt this the main reason why Tien didnt bring Yamcha along in the RF? and that was only against Freeza and his goons, I dont see how it would make sense to bring him now against the universes finest fighters, thats like bringing a sheep to a pack of wolves.

They're most likely going to have the humans fight the weaker opponents of the other teams. You really think Tenshinhan, Roshi, Krillin, and Yamcha (if he joins), will be there all to get knocked out in 10 seconds? If that's the case what would be the point? You might as well have just gone with 5-man teams instead.

Seems like they did this to give a bunch of characters one last time to shine.

This is really the best possible outcome. We still get Buu, and Freeza is thrown into the tournament as enemy for extra tension. That would make Yamcha a red herring.

Yeah thats obvious they'll be fighting weaker ones, but my point is they are still fighters with their whole universe on the line, whats Yamcha who they didnt even bring against Freeza and his army who arent even fighters gonna do against actual fighters? it doesnt make sense.

Lol, Yamcha didn't even know what was going on, that's why he didn't go with them. Piccolo knew about Shin, Krillin went out of curiosity.

He went with all the other fighters to search for the Androids when they arrived. After Gero punched through his chest, he carried Goku back to safety when he was dying of the heart virus. After that he showed up at the Cell games when he could have stayed home.

The only time Yamcha showed hesitation of fighting was when Cyborg Freeza first came to Earth, but again he still showed up with all the other fighters.

No more than the rest of the cast, really. He was never shown like Yajirobe.

In fact one of Yamcha's traits in DBZ was his overconfidence. He constantly thought he was better than he was, he wasn't cowardly.

Easy, Yamcha will perform better than Tenshinhan because Tenshinhan is the new buttmonkey of the series.
