Fan Pairings that just piss you off

in all my "research" for my FanFic, I've obviously been exposed to a lot of Trunks x Pan material, and I gotta say, it come to put me off a lot. It's just creepy, for crying out pete. I mean, Trunks has at least a good ten years on Pan, who is supposed to be, like, 12 or something in GT. Ugh.

Just so you know, Toriyama supposedly is in favor of a "Trunks / daughter of Tenshinhan and Lunchi" pairing.

So Toriyama was thinking of getting Tenshinhan and Lunch together afterall?
Why didn't he?


Would've made for an interesting dynamic; especially with how either of her personalities doesn't remember what the other does.
Infact I would've liked to see them explore just why Lunch has the two personalities in the first place, but that'd be getting completely off-topic and the answer's probably something simple like "Toriyama thought it would be a fun gag."

I mentioned that in another topic, but Toriyama apparently had his own idea about Vegeta Jr.'s ancestry.

The idea was that:
1) Trunks would have a child/children with the daughter of Tenshinhan and Lunchi.
2) Bra and Marron would both have children
3) Bra's child (or one of Bra's children) and Marron's child (or one of Marron's children) would in turn have a child (at least one, anyway)
4) That child (i.e. Bra and Marron's grandchild) and Trunks' grandchild would end up together and... well, you'd have Vegeta Jr.

So, basically, Vegeta Jr. would descend from both Trunks and Bra, but also from Kulilin, No. 18, Tenshinhan and Lunchi. Quite the bloodline.

That's the thing: I don't know the exact source.
Apparently, it was part of a Toriyama interview or text about Dragon Ball GT in particular, so... I suspect it might be something from the Dragon Ball GT Dragon Box booklet. Could somebody check?

Wow. Despite the fact that it involves a lot of retroxplaining and can be somewhat confusing, it makes Vegeta Jr much more awesome. XD

As for TenXLunch... I tend to get the feeling that nothing ever happened there, but if it did, we have plenty of room, say, immediately before or immediately after the Cell Games. Actually... it seems like there could be some easy ways of making that happen that wouldn't stretch the characters ... ur... too much.

Like caejones said, it could have been right after the Androids arc. After all, Tenshinhan did left the other characters, after Cell's defeat. And his daughter would be slightly younger than Trunks.

Not to mention that there's some far-removed inbreeding going on with Trunks and Bra....

Yay! First post! Kinda ironic since I was thinking about this topic the other day, don't ask me why...

Outside of the Final Fantasy series, I don't really read fanfics or look at fanart, since most people on the internet can't write or draw to my satisfaction, so I really haven't encountered any terrible DBZ pairings myself. Though I admit that back in junior high, I was tricked into believing the Goten/Bra was canon by someone I thought was in the DBZ know. When I first saw GT, I was actually waiting for them to hook up, despite having no scenes together.

While some of the pairings described seem pretty out there (Brolli/Videl? WTF?), I think some are at least kinda plausible. Like Goten/Trunks, they're so cute. And what else are you gonna do with Trunks? He's the bishiest character in the series and yet he never gets a girlfriend? Seems kinda suspicious... As for Goku/Vegeta, there's kinda almost sexual tension there maybe. Android saga Vegeta totally sounds like a jealous girlfriend in the Funi dub ("No Kakarrot, you're mine!" and other such lines). And it's pretty funny to think about. I mean, if you're gonna potara fuse with someone, causing you to join right at the crotch, you might as well bone, right?

As for Vegeta jr. and his supposedly awesome ancestry, unless he pulls out a Big Bang Kikoho, I still won't care about him. Him and his stupid shorts and his damn widow's peak (what are you, 10 years old? Grow some hair, you freak!).

Well, while battling the third dark dragon, Pan does meet and befriend an Irish boy whom she feels sympathy for because of his abusive father. After they defeat the dragon created from Oolong's panty wish, she offers to teach him how to fly if he wants to visit her. That could be a hint of things to come? o.o

And Vegeta Jr.'s parents are Trunks and Bra's grandchildren. So they're both 1/8 Saiyan. And that makes Vegeta Jr. 1/8 Saiyan as well.
