It's probably way to early to complain about that, though.
You're maybe the only one, it's using the "framing" technique that Guilty Gear Xrd is using by cutting out frames on purpose from the attacks to simulate the Anime feel, it looks a bit weirder because the action is faster-paced and there aren't many direct-feed videos at 60FPS.
Wait...so youre saying its literally going to play like that or that it looks like that due to the video fps.

It looks better at 60fps, but the animations aren't silky smooth on purpose. You're going to see lots of smears, key frames and other techniques to make hits recognizable among all the explosions and effects, and that's great.

Gotcha.

I'm gonna be a day 1 buyer regardless...I mean I'm not overly hyped for it yet but I'm going to give it a fair shot. I'm just trying to get a feel for what to expect in the finished product.

It really seems as it's going to be 1 slot per character. That probably means that Kid/Ultimate Gohan will be skins to Gohan(the main one being the Cell Games Gohan) and that goes for Buu & RoF Goku/Vegeta too.If that's the case then...THANK GOD FOR THIS GAME.

Awesome graphics and gameplay from what we've seen so far,and I hope we'll get a quality-over-quantity roster.

I'm bying a PS4 just for this game,no doubt about it!

They should just make Super Saiyan Blue a skin for Goku and Vegeta. But just change Goku's Ultimate to Kaio-Ken or whatever instead of SSJ3. Save's slots.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

It was cool to see golden frieza be a transformation. Game looks great I just hope I dont get too bored with it as I do with most fighters once all the flash has worn off.

Apart from base goku looking slightly too pale, these graphics are simply amazing though. Were finally at that looks like the show stage, except for real. They've gone overly bright here but i think with a slight filter mod this could easily produce screens that look like the anime.

I hope we get a couple more (ar least) variations of the fighter clash during fights when someone dies and unique dialogue for each pairing at the start of fights.

All I need is some alt colors, Bardock, and We Gotta Power and I'm 1000% buy
Golden Frieza transformation looks like it is an ultimate/special move.

Mechanics breakdown based on the gameplay footage we've gotten.
MvC inspired:
- 3V3
- Assists with each having a 5 second cooldown
- Characters have blue life which can be recovered while tagged out.
- After tagging out there's a 10 second cooldown before you can use that character as an assist
- Pushblock
- Team Supers
- Lots of Super meter (7 being the maximum)
- Classic MvC combo structure of being able to combo Normal-Special-Super
- Level 1 and Level 3 Supers

Guilty Gear Inspired:
- Dust (the rush Freeza does to Goku in the trailer, seems to function like the throw here)
- Air combo structure of being able to jump mid combo to continue it
- Install Transformations (Golden Freeza - Level 3 Super that boosts your stats, will leave you vulnerable when it runs out)

Blazblue:
- Burst/Overdrive (Called Sparking here, usable as a combo-breaker or solo that temporarily boosts your stats)

Extreme Butouden:
- Dash Pursuits (usable at any time now, don't cost bar, can be used as an aerial combo starter)
- Ki charging (obvious is obvious)

Mix of the above/unique:
- Neutral and offensive teleports that cost 1 bar, seem to automatically knock away the opponent
- Ex specials,, costs 1 bar
- Ki-blast deflect, seems to be pushblock's equivalent for simple ki-blasts
- Has KoF styled rounds

They go for pretty cheap nowadays. I'm sure you could find one along with the Budokai games for a good price.

Amen to Burst Limit bro. Microsoft should've made it backwards compatible already. I'll even take the Budokai HD collection, even if I prefer the OG versions of the games.
The Budokai HD Collection is more likely than Burst Limit. The Kenji Yamamoto soundtrack will make sure it won't get releleased without a replacement score. The more crazy thing is that no Dragon Ball games are backwards comparable for Xbox One at all. With the announcement of OG Xbox support for Backwards Compatability, Sagas might come (unlikely) but who cares about Sagas?

Shame that out of this 24 character roster, 3 of the character slots will be reserved for SSG Goku SSB Goku and SSB Vegeta

Personally I just think that's the case because of Gohan.

That version of Gohan is normally named as "Teen Gohan" in most of DB games,in order to differentiate him from his other versions. But as we've seen in the gameplay videos he is called just "Gohan",possibly hinting to one slot being shared by multiple versions of him.

A scarce piece of evidence for sure, but that's what we have for the time being.

It IS a transformation. You can transform in the middle of the battle and play as Golden Freeza as long the transformation goes. He will return to his final form after a while, like saiyans in the first Xenoverse

I dunno, nothing's set in stone. Love SSG Goku, but he's gotten kinda irrelevant over the past years. I mean there's the manga where they still use the form, but it's not that big of a reason to have him in.

Anyhow I wouldn't say SSG is guaranteed. And I say it even as it's fan. SSB is probably the main form we'll be getting.

I don't think there'll be multiple versions of a character on one slot. They don't even have multiple costumes, just recolors.

I think it's more likely that "Teen Gohan" is referred to as just "Gohan" because there will be no Kid Gohan or Adult Gohan, with the likely exception of Chou/Mystic/Ultimate Gohan who would likely be referred to as such.

Watched the trailer and the demos. I loved everything!

Now I'm just worried about the story mode and character roster. I'm not expecting more than 50 characters, but I'm also not expecting less than 20.
If Golden Freeza is in, then Beerus, SSG/SSB Goku and SSB Vegeta should be too.
Hopefully Hit and Goku Black/Zamasu make the cut. I would like FT Trunks (DBS version) too, but the others are priority for me to be happy.

It's still soon to use characters from Universe Survival arc.

I got burned out of DB games since Tenkaichi 3 in 2007 and because of that I didn't bought another one since then, so hopefully this revives my passion for them.

My only complaint so far is how they gave a random color outfit to Goku as second option:
Image
It's okay for Buu, but for characters like Goku/Vegeta/Gohan they have other official outfits they can choose as alternative costume, instead of applying a random color scheme to the same outfit.

Anyway, count me in!
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

These guys dont really do alt costumes. Like, ever. Its always one outfit with a crap ton of alt colors.

This is my one complaint as well.

I get it if they don't want to have two skins that are very similar, which would exclude having things like the Kaio gi as alternate skins, but it would be nice if they could include one outfit Goku actually wore during DBZ rather than this weird hybrid thing I assume is from Super. Even for Majin Boo, I would love it if he had the skinny Evil Boo as an alternate skin. If the roster has to be small because each character has to be programmed meticulously, decent alternate skins would be a nice compensation.
