Goku Black Saga plot-holes keep backfiring in the DBS core
Re: Goku Black Saga plot-holes keep backfiring in the DBS core
I could have sworn Zamasu/Black/Merged Zamasu said the "ZERO MORTALS PLAN" is nearly complete, and all they have to do is wipe out Trunks and the resistance
That heavily implies that they wiped out other universes already

If, as it is implied in the manga, Future Zamasu saw Goku fighting in the U6vsU7 Tournament on GodTube, it's possible that he also saw Vegeta there.MisteryOne wrote:I would say the anime has another big plothole (ignoring SSIkari) and is the fact that Black knows Vegeta. It doesn't make sense.

It's mentioned that it's "coming to its head" during their lodge talk, and that once they get rid of the Saiyans they can easily kill all remaining mortals (this second one is from episode 62). Merged Zamasu also says that the Zero Mortals Plan will be completed that very day and that once all life on Earth is eliminated the celebration for the world of the gods begins (episode 65). The anime script implies very strongly that Earth is the final planet, although it's not outright stated.OLKv3 wrote:I could have sworn Zamasu/Black/Merged Zamasu said the "ZERO MORTALS PLAN" is nearly complete, and all they have to do is wipe out Trunks and the resistance

So in the anime its most likely that this happened Id guess:Neon Z wrote:It's mentioned that it's "coming to its head" during their lodge talk, and that once they gnet rid of the Saiyans they can easily kill all remaining mortals (this second one is from episode 62). In all other universe the Kaioshin were killed quickly and quietly. Being realistic all 12 universe Kaioshin could be done in a single day. This eliminates the "warning" factor.
Following this many planets were destroyed through explosion and such where the fighters never had a chance.
In U7 it was more "personal" on Earth which is why it took longer.

i once heard a theory that there is only one grand priest and he is in the main timeline, since there's no proof of him being in other timelines (if this is different in the manga, don't tell me). this is because he is actually the most omnipotent and omniscient being and zeno is like his successor or whatever, but he's still immature. i think this theory came from the fact that a lot of stuff in dragon ball super is taken from mythology, and the father of all of the angels is usually God, and in super the grand priest is father of the angels. i guess the logic is that since he wasn't created, or since he's at the absolute top, there can only be one of him.
it kinda makes sense when you think about how useless zeno really is. all he does is play around and erase shit on whims. and think about what we've seen from the grand priest so far. he knows almost everything about all of the universes. if he really was in future trunks timeline, then wouldn't he have pursued zeno when goku was to taking him to a different timeline? i like this theory.

The thing is the Zenkai's worked narratively because Dragon Ball had a history of Goku losing a fight, recovering, training and coming back stronger. Tao, King Piccolo, after Raditz kills him. So it was convenient that Toriyama's plot device worked smoothly within the overall narrative. Goku trained with Korin twice but he also recovered from massive defeats. Goku recovered after enduring the climb up the tower and journey across snake way.Lord Frieza wrote:Cant add to much here since everyone has basically shot the holes in the plot holes save the only real one.
I will as this, after the Frieza arc Zenkai stopped being a thing. It didn't exist before that arc and aside from Cell and Black's Super Zenkai it has not once been used since. GT talks about it but gives no definitive proof of it. The only time it ever cropped up for the heroes again was in the Cooler movie. Zenkai was a plot device used to get Goku and Vegeta up to Frieza's level during the arc. Nothing more, nothing less.
Once the Frieza arc was over Zenkai got put in a little box and Goku and the other saiyans went back to good old fashioned training. Infact during the Black arc they steal Gohan's rage boost instead. If Zenkai were still a thing then Vegeta should have been powerful enough to beat Black after he got stabbed by him then healed.
After the Freeza arc, it's just not as important as the Super Saiyan power boosts so it becomes less prevalent.

I would agree with you.....but their is no evidence to support that in the story.lancerman wrote:The thing is the Zenkai's worked narratively because Dragon Ball had a history of Goku losing a fight, recovering, training and coming back stronger. From the Beginning of DB to the fight with Vegeta, Goku show no significant increase in power after getting badly beaten.
Goku only beat Tao thanks to Korin's training, with King Piccolo it was the Super God water drawing out his potential, Goku WAS more powerful then Piccolo during their first match and despite several years passing their power is still almost equal. The same with the saiyans.
The entire idea of Goku coming back stronger after nearly getting killed before the Frieza arc is a retcon, one that has no instances in the story to support it. Also I'm not the only one to pick up on that https://youtu.be/39tOw2kANjs?t=160 .

Don't try to make sense of the Future Trunks saga. It's just all nonsense from a story perspective.

How exactly?Snakeway Skywalker wrote:Don't try to make sense of the Future Trunks saga. It's just all nonsense from a story perspective.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

The thing is, Korin's training came after Goku's massive defeat at the hands of Tao. The Super God water also came after a defeat at the hands of Piccolo and his minions. Every time in the story Goku came back stronger, it was after a defeat. So you can always assume a zenkai boost accompanied an increase in strength.Lord Frieza wrote:I would agree with you.....but their is no evidence to support that in the story.lancerman wrote:The thing is the Zenkai's worked narratively because Dragon Ball had a history of Goku losing a fight, recovering, training and coming back stronger.
