Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Would Super Saiyan Blue-Aura Absorbed Goku from the Future Trunks Saga and Super Saiyan Blue-Aura Absorbed Vegeta from the Universe Survival Saga fighting together as a team have been enough to even defeat the very first and original Merged Zamasu?
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I don't like that. Trying to always show power relations is incredibly forced.Draconic wrote:The fight with Beerus is pretty bad, but I like what Toyo was going for with it. A quick easy way to establish where the Saiyans stand against a God of Destruction, while having Vegeta catch up with Goku in a belivable context. Not much else to say without translations, but looks like a good opening.

I would say Goku and Vegeta together would have beating Merged Zamasu up if they both had Mastered Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. However, they wouldn't beat him because of his immortality.Steven Bloodriver wrote:Would Super Saiyan Blue-Aura Absorbed Goku from the Future Trunks Saga and Super Saiyan Blue-Aura Absorbed Vegeta from the Universe Survival Saga fighting together as a team have been enough to even defeat the very first and original Merged Zamasu?

I thinkit fits the context of the scene and puts to rest the assumption that Beerus has been surpassed and, which was an idea thrown around after the Black arc and for the anime even since the U6 one.Cetra wrote:I don't like that. The moment works for me because I hated how the Goku-Hakai thing played out so this evens it out.

How is it forced? The only people who really have a problem with it are the ones who kept saying Goku was neck and neck with Beerus. This was shown to help the audience to once again gauge how far superior Beerus is to them. It makes sense for Vegeta to want to see where he stands against Beerus. Naturally he wants to test out his new found powers against the strongest being in the universe. What's the problem?Cetra wrote:I don't like that. Why the heck does Vegeta need SSJ3 when he has SSG and SSB? It makes no sense whatsoever for him to use a form that drastically drains his stamina like that.jplaya2023 wrote:goku saying that to her is bad writing it makes no sense either. Vegeta is smarter trains more than she does and he couldn't reach it. Niether could gohan. Super is messed up in a lot of instances and that's no difference. If vegeta allegedly had SSJ3 he would've shown it against beerus after he slapped bulma. That would've been the perfect time to show it.Kishido wrote:Bullshit... That's why Goku said to Caulifla she will gain it soon?jplaya2023 wrote:
you can't obtain ssj3 being alive in the living world.
That's just headcanon of Veggie fans trying to explain why he never got it in GT and even now before SSB.
Fact is... He never showed it... Toriyama never showed it and TOEI as well... If he could do it they for sure would make a scene of it just for marketing as well.
And just because he has SSB doesn't mean he can go SSJ3

Eh, it's pretty easy to see where he is coming from. Vegeta for some reason is on Beerus' planet training with Whis, even though Goku is at home shopping and his wife is pregnant. Then Beerus all of a sudden just wants to fill in for a bit. Theeen Vegeta just pulls out the Mastered Blue out of nowhere. And after getting defeated, Vegeta just asks to go home.TheOne wrote:How is it forced? The scene is clearly there for two purposes, clarify where Beerus stands and provide some cool action in an otherwise uneventful part of the story.
As I said, I like quite a bit what Toyotaro did with this (and it grows on me the more I think about it), but it is a little forced. It's not going to take anyone out of the story, but when you get down to it, it is pretty unnatural.

So I just scrolled on Herms' page and apparently Goku tells Vegeta in the manga he wasn't present for/wasn't aware of both Gohan and Goten's births?

Wtf it's like they try there hardest to screw with his character, I can understand not being there for Goten, but Gohan--like did Toyotaro really need to include something like that, it's makes him more unlikeable than he already is in Super.Jigurashi wrote:https://twitter.com/Herms98?ref_src=tws ... 6222249984

In the anime goku said he never saw goten being born due ringing being dead which was understandable here in the manga goku never saw gohan? Yeah this is defiantly toyo bs in it
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
I honestly forgot if he mentioned Gohan or not in the anime. But I went back to episode 77 and 78 and saw that he didn't mention Gohan. That's pretty strange. I get not being aware of Goten, but not being aware of Gohan?pacz360 wrote:More like in the manga.SaiyanGod117 wrote:Wtf it's like they try there hardest to screw with his character, I can understand not being there Goten, but Gohan--like did Toyotaro really need to include something like that, it's makes more unlikeable than he already is in Super.Jigurashi wrote:https://twitter.com/Herms98?ref_src=tws ... 6222249984

He rubs salt on the wound even more by having Vegeta criticizing Goku of parenthood, like Vegeta of all people he's still a shit father in my book. While on his good days an ok one at best, just because he took Trunks to some fair once, doesn't refute all the stuff he's done in the past.pacz360 wrote:More like in the manga.SaiyanGod117 wrote:Wtf it's like they try there hardest to screw with his character, I can understand not being there Goten, but Gohan--like did Toyotaro really need to include something like that, it's makes more unlikeable than he already is in Super.Jigurashi wrote:https://twitter.com/Herms98?ref_src=tws ... 6222249984

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
There's the filler where Goku, Chichi, and Ox King are trying to come up with a name for baby Gohan, but I guess he could be off training and came back as soon as he heard that the baby was born.

I thought when Goku met up with his friends at Kame House he mentions he never really got much training done? I could be remembering wrong though.Sandubadear wrote:There's the filler where Goku, Chichi, and Ox King are trying to come up with a name for baby Gohan, but I guess he could be off training and came back as soon as he heard that the baby was born.

IDK either I think this is only a manga only version while the anime never mentions thisJigurashi wrote:I honestly forgot if he mentioned Gohan or not in the anime. Jesus Christ, the community is so obsessed with how bad they think Goku is as a parent that any reference that is made as to how he isn't the most common guy on earth is met with extreme overreaction. You people have daddy issues or what?
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
In the anime, it's never said either way if Goku was there for Gohan's birth. Goku only mentioned Goten since he was dead and later he acted like he seen Goten as a baby when Bra was born, only for Chi-Chi to remind him that he was dead, which seems to indicate that he may have been there for Gohan's birth.
Either way, there is no 'canon' statement that Goku was there when Gohan was born, but the general assumption is that he was. But I would honestly not be surprised if he wasn't.

Preach it brother, people just need to accept Goku is not perfect or your everyday guy,idk why people think he was nice & selfless man in the original 42 volumeRhuagh wrote:Jesus Christ, the community is so obsessed with how bad they think Goku is as a parent that any reference that is made as to how he isn't the most common guy on earth is met with extreme overreaction.
