In the end, Master Roshi outperformed both Krillin and Tenshinhan, by a lot...
Strongest human? Strongest human...
Side note...what's so bad about taking a sniper who was giving your best team mates a hard time out along with you?
Getting two people out of bounds before taking a dive is a WAY better showing than half the other contestants who've lost got.

They obviously gave him the best showing to justify why Goku would bring him into the tournament. He is the weakest character there and outsmarted his enemies with techniques rather than raw power. The guys Krillin fought were obviously a lot stronger than who Roshi faced.
Overall though it was obvious Roshi would do well. You don't bring in a character retired for all of DBZ not to do anything with him.

Roshi did absolutely nothing to prove he's the strongest Earthling by any means. It's good to see he's using technique and experience to take care of certain opponents though.

Roshi certainly did way better than I expected. I thought he would be the first to go out.

If Roshi could bukujutsu… heh…
Actually, I hope Krillin will return in next arc.

In terms of power, he did nothing that would indicate he's stronger than Kuririn. He may be stronger than Ten though, going by how their fight in the recruitment episode turned out. Anyway, Roshi has better techniques than both of them and the characters he fought were pretty weak (especially Caway) and even against the somewhat stronger ones like Ganos he used skill, technique and his own life force to win.

Truly, Roshi is the strongest human. Never doubted it
Re: In the end, Master Roshi outperformed both Krillin and Tenshinhan, by a lot...
Do anyone remember the lots of herbs [ganja?! haha] that Roshi has eaten on the beginning of the arc? Didn't that made him strong?
I don't know if he is already stronger than Krilin or Tien, but he is smarter as a fighter.

Because the sniper was pretty much a complete joke and Gohan, Goku, and Vegeta having any trouble with him was some absolutely garbage writing. Even Piccolo having trouble with him strained my disbelief.blackbewhite2k7 wrote:Side note...what's so bad about taking a sniper who was giving your best team mates a hard time out along with you?

I believe, it is the last time for Roshi. After ToP, he will be almost useless as a fighter. So, because of this he is forced af.
Re: In the end, Master Roshi outperformed both Krillin and Tenshinhan, by a lot...
It's because he's used to fighting as a pedestrian aka landlubber aka that old guy that can't fly
Now everyone else who was spamming flying for all these years is brought back to his level. What if this whole tournament was created to make Roshi look cool?
Big fan of the characters of Dragon Ball, all of them, especially formerly prominent sub-characters. -__-

Hard to argue his victories aren't at least in some part due to deceptive reserves of power.
Re: In the end, Master Roshi outperformed both Krillin and Tenshinhan, by a lot...
Yes he already got too much
Now finger crossed for Roshi to be kicked out by Frost or even killef o dont care but just eliminate him. I prefer show to focus only on heavy hitters so tension will raise up. Old man is holding bavk guys lile jiren etc. Weaker characters should leave especially when tien is out. If Roshi isnt eliminatef then i hope he will be hardly torturred and. Pummrled by Frost and Goku either dont give fuck or being too busy until too late

Re: In the end, Master Roshi outperformed both Krillin and Tenshinhan, by a lot...
In term of power, Ganos is portrayed as a powerful opponent that can be a problem even for Goku so it's actually the strongest guy of U4 seen ! Add the fact Krilin was unable to fight against a weaker ennemy and need trick to win and need to be saved 2 times before.....
Yeah, without hesitation everything imply Roshi is overall far better than Krilin. As for Tenshinhan it's literally a desesperate move against one of the most troublesome fighters seen behind god levels !
Tenshinhan use his body to protect Gohan and Piccolo exhausted..... And with his defeat, Vegeta can ultimately beat Purn, so for Tenshinhan it's a win and an assist !
It's clearly a major win, even for Beerus.

There's little to no evidence that Ganos was that much stronger than Roshi and based on feats Majora and Shosa are more impressive due to knocking around and blocking C18. Ganos definitely had power, speed, and youth but not much experience, Roshi easily analyzed his combat style to evade before the attacks could land. That's what the episode was about, technique over power.ShinTenshin wrote:In term of power, Ganos is portrayed as a powerful opponent that can be a problem even for Goku so it's actually the strongest guy of U4 seen !

Kuririn was literally fighting Majora blow for blow, keep in mind this guy knocked an on guard 18 to the ground...

And if Roshi is superior why couldn't he perceive Kuririn during this scene, in a battle royale no less?

Don't see how that matters since he saved C18 as well.and need to be saved 2 times before.....
-Caulifla had to be saved by Hit and Kale
-Goku had to be saved from Tupper by 18
-Kakunsa had to be saved by Vikal
-Hit had to be saved by Goku
-Dyspo was saved by Kunchi
-Gohan and Piccolo had to be saved by Tenshinhan
How is that an indicator of strength at all?

Re: In the end, Master Roshi outperformed both Krillin and Tenshinhan, by a lot...
Excellent post, I'd say. This shows how the strongest earthling is still Krillin. Also, given that Goku is a poor measuring stick (goes from matching buu to going SSB on Krillin and getting pushed back), him exchanging only a few blows with Ganos shouldn't be taken as anything.MainJPW wrote:There's little to no evidence that Ganos was that much stronger than Roshi and based on feats Majora and Shosa are more impressive due to knocking around and blocking C18. Of course the sensei would outperform his students.
I'm glad DBS is giving Master Roshi some good cred for the Tournament.

They're giving Roshi lots of spotlight, so that they don't have to do it later, after the tournament. Then they can focus on Krillin and Tien. Hopefully, lol
I understand that enemies have to be getting progressively stronger for there to be a good story (the ToP is a nice subversion of that), but I really miss prolonged, even fights with Tien. Guess they're no longer coming back, lol

I'd probably like Tien Town if it weren't for his annoyingly rabid fan base that gets off on measuring Tien Turn against Krillin.
All I can say is I'm so glad he is finally gone.
