Quantum's post made me think of one of my most favourite DBZ items I own. It was given to me by my friend Mochi and it's the little diorama of the scene with a young Gohan asleep against a meditating Piccolo. It's such a small piece of merchandise, but it's still highly prized by me. ^-^
Obviously we all know Gohan and Piccolo are my favs hands down. XD

i'm kinda like him myself in some respects.. another good character who doesn't get much respect - is Yamcha.
Kunzait_83:
Yaji's cool in my book.I like most of the cast of Dragonball, so I'll talk about someone who doesn't really get much respect, Yajirobe. Sure, he isn't the bravest guy, or the most dependable, or diligent, for that matter, but he does follow his own path. When he first shows up, hes right up there in toughness with Goku, slicing through Cymbal like nothing...then he eats him...maybe thats why no other strong people know him before he met Goku, because he eats them when they lose?...nah...
Kunzait_83:
Agree. i like Vegeta and all,, but he was a complete ass around that period..He was by far at his most irritating and whiny as a character during his whole anti-hero phase during the Cell saga, fan favorite though it may be.
Just Saiyan...
That's exactly what I thought.QuantumDestiny wrote:Piccolo....
The first time I ever saw him I became completely entranced. It was the opening episodes of Z where he's in that mountainous area with just the wind blowing. He looked so ALIEN! It was his attitude that really struck me - he wasn't a snarling, mindless, crazed monster (like so many alien-looking characters are in N/A cartoons/films)... he was CALM, and very intelligent - the cape looked really mysterious too.
Gah stupid 12-year-old me. I instantly got a mad crush on him lol. The innocent kind!! (I think....)
I tend to pick characters I feel I'd get along with best, were they real, as my favourites. I'm the sort of person who could happily go a week without saying a word, though I write sometimes. My friends know I'd rather just listen to them, though this can be misunderstood by some people who don't know me. Piccolo is my favourite because I think he'd get it. I'm really into philosophy, too, and I think the later in the series version of Piccolo might have something to say on that subject.

Goten.
To explain further would be to explain myself, and I'm quite sure that such a thing would bore everyone to tears.

Well, I for one have quite a few favourites. I definitely don't have an individual one.
Yamcha
I was never really a fan of Yamcha until I watched/read Dragon Ball. I love this character in the earlier part of the series... he's definitely underrated. I found his "oh-god-it's-a-girl" thing hilarious. I have a LOT more respect for this character now (and hey, he uses wolf attacks!).
Buruma
Another character I wasn't really a fan of until DB. I'm not quite sure why I like this character as one of my favourites, to be honest. But, she is damn cute with long hair >__>.
Goku
I really liked this character in early DB, also. He's one of my favourites from that time, most definitely. Funny, powerful, determined. I also started liking him a lot more after watching the Japanese version, as the voice acting reminded me a lot more of the earlier Goku. I wasn't the HUGEST fan of him when I watched DBZ as a kid-- but now-- yeah (then again, I did feel saddened when I was younger when I thought he'd died in the Freeza saga)
Gohan
I LOVED this character as a kid. Perhaps because I was a kid? Haha. He eventually turned into something kickass when he was younger-- I WAS initially upset by the later episodes where he wasn't focused on fighting (and cringed a little at Saiyaman). Now, though, the later Gohan's grown on me and I always found the high school bits enjoyable.
Vegeta
This is a character for whom I admire their pride. Also, ever since I watched the Japanese version, Vegeta's voice made me REALLY like this character. I actually like a lot of his arrogance, for some reason, but he did piss me off a bit in the Cell saga.
Mirai Trunks
Hey, "everyone" loves this character, but who cares? He has an interesting back story, I like how he uses his sword and I like his determination (for example, even 'blasting' his father).
Zarbon
*shrugs* I just... do, I guess. I think this one's more character design than anything.
I swear I'm forgetting people and some more explanation, but I think that's more than enough for some favourites, haha. This post was slightly longer than expected, despite the small summaries.

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

For the first and third things, it's cause Vegeta knows too much. He knows the horrors Freeza is capable of (especially to a traitor) and when his attack failed, he knew he was going to die. Against Broly he 'knew' the Legendary Super Saiyan was invincible and there was no way to overcome him.Kunzait_83 wrote:No the real "chicken" of the Z Senshi is none other than... Vegeta. Think about it; I already mentioned against Freeza. Then there's the Cell games, when everyone (even Yamucha for heavens sake) tried to help Gohan against Perfect Cell, while Vegeta stood behind whining about how "hopeless" it was, coming in dead last to help at the zero hour. Then there's his constant blubbering throughout almost the entirety of Movie 8, which totally outdoes Kuririn's "diving for cover" moment in Movie 2 on the wussing out scale. And so on and so on.
The second one is an anime-only, everybody but Vegeta flies for their lives in the manga.

I like the original DB gang the most out of all characters.
Bulma was the one that started it it all by telling Goku all bout the Dragonballs. She made the Dragon Radar and lot's of other stuff like the Micro-Band, Trunks' Time Machine and other stuff.
Before she was a fighter's wife, she was the brains of the group.
and I still think of her that way, and she's quite a looker.
Yamcha on the oter hand, is another one that I like. He is underated by the VxB fangirls for "being a cheat" which was Bulma's side of the story.
But you guys all know that he's scared of women, not a "playboy".
Also I find him to be much less of a coward than Vegeta, in the anime Cell Games, hewas one of the Z fighters helping while Vegeta just stood there paniking.
Kuririn on the other hand is also more brave than Vegeta sometimes.
He managed to continue to fight after being stabbed by Frieza's horns.
While Vegeta was all like "OMG I'm going to die" after his attacked failed on Frieza.
I also like his remarks at Goku's stupidity during the 21st tournam, ent and their training.
Also like Goku because he always sticks around for his friends, when he sees a friend being attacked, he just jumps in and attacks the attacker.
Also like his dialogue during the Pilaf Saga and 21st Tournament.
And Lunch, she was a great addition to the DB gang.
The others are all great also and sorry for all the remarks against Vegeta.

Freeza is my favorite character of the series (can't you tell?).
What draws me into him is how he is so polite, charming, and the most evil son of a bitch you will ever meet. The odd combination of a composure of pleasantness combined with a truly maniacal nature is a fascinating one, and a brilliant descision by Akira.
He is also the only villain who truly develops. He starts as a confident, ruthless tyrant who degenerates into a pitiful being who has been defeated, humiliated, and made an utter fool of.
Despite the fact that he did all that he did, I did feel bad for him in the end. He deserved what he got for sure, but you can't help but pity him.
I really wish Dragonball Z ended with his defeat.

He (Gohan) is weaker. He has the fighting spirit of a wet noodle soaked in water until it barely resembles a noodle. A pebble is tougher than Gohan, because you could conceivably trip on a rock and stub your toe, while Gohan would yield like so much melted pudding. Vanilla pudding. Because he's too pansy-ass to have a strong flavor if he was pudding. Pure water has more flavor than hypothetical Gohan-pudding.
