Oh god! Finally the developers learned what's best for Dragon Ball! After decades of boring and crappy games, thank goodness we got Xenoverse and that series is inspiring future games to continue their legacy! :D

Sooo... they kind of confirmed that #21 is a villain, and can fight, right?

Yup. ArcSYS really does have a hard-on for female boss characters.

It can be (well, it is) the feature and provide the option of 1v1 for arcade/multiplayer. To me, it will be the deciding factor between getting it or not.
If they don't have that option that would suck to me, but I think I still would buy the game though.

That's not the cover of the game. That's the cover of Nov's issue of Game Informer.

Shoryuken about Gameinformer coverage of DBFZ
Strap in folks, as we’ve got tons of Dragon Ball FighterZ info coming down the pipe over the next month. Announced today as the cover game for this month’s issue of Game Informer, the magazine is diving deep into DBFZ — complete with developer interviews, new gameplay footage and hopefully, more information on new characters joining the roster.

In this first teaser video for this month of Dragon Ball FighterZ, we’ve got a glimpse of two new stages. One of them is a ruined version of West City, while the other looks to be Amenbo Island. Dragon Ball Z fans will recognize the ruined West City from the History of Trunks movie, while Amenbo Island was where the Z-Fighters first encountered Dr. Gero and Android 19 during the Android Saga.

With those two stages revealed, it brings the overall stage count to 10:

- Planet Namek
- World Tournament Arena
- Cell Games Arena
- Rocky Field (Noon/Dusk)
- West City
- Ruined West City
- Amenbo Island
- Sacred World of the Kais
- Outer Space

I’m personally holding out for a Kame House stage, along with either Kami’s Lookout or the Hyperbolic Time Chamber being DBFZ’s training stage. The Game Informer teaser also promises footage of Yamcha, Tien and both SSB Goku and Vegeta, so keep your eyes peeled for more footage coming later this month.

"The Training Mode won't be as in-depth as GGXrd's because the mechanics aren't as complicated - there will be a training mode but they also want to integrate training into the story mode."

I already found Xrd's training mode lacking for not having reactions for wakeup and block.

I'm going to make a wild guess and say you can resurrect a character if you gather the Dragon Balls. I hope that's not the cause it would be a broken and unfun mechanic, it's Arc System so I'm confident that whatever it is will be balanced.

It's nice to see them adding more depth to the game and remembering to use what gives name to the franchise. I can't wait to see Yamcha, by the description he seems immensely fun.

They`re pretty much setting Yamcha as the "Ryu" of the game, the chosen character to learn all he strategic fundamentals of the game`s mechanics. Expect him to be quite popular for online play.

Of course I hope this doesn`t mean he`s just easy to play. I prefer him to be acessible and newbie fun but a rewarding experience along the way.

So...Yamcha`s super moves are pretty much maneuverable with different animations, hit box and mayhap range? That sets the fun up.

Tenshinhan with also different Tri-Beams (cool) but the questions remains, will Kiai be part of his moveset? I think it`s such a logical move to be in a game of this nature, not to mention the coolest counter design of the source material that if to be found it will make the character incomplete for me. Luckily Chiatzu is there to spice it up.

Glad that #21 seems to be a figther too.

If #21 ends up being playlable who would you all want to show up to diverse the cast? Arale and Cabba for me.

My dream list is way too big at this point I think: Roshi, Hit, Arale, Maggeta, Zamasu, Cabba and...Beerus. Oy.

Confirmed that the story mode won't just be a cinematic and apparently we can make choices to affect the outcome. That's pretty cool!

Watching the Blue versions of Goku and Vegeta my oppinion is different but not different enough it seems. They have nuances that provide a different play style and more speed/power, however there's a lot of recycling from their SSJ versions. I would rather have brand new characters than these two.

My top 3 request list was: Tenshinhan, Nappa and SSJ3 Gotenks. One has been granted. I'm fearful characters from the Saiyan and Namek arc won't make it in, due to the timeline of the story mode.

I also want a joke character, either Arale or Mr.Satan would be great.

Speaking of ki blast clashes for the game (actually, idk how it call proper). Actually, it would work well, if they decided it work like x-wagers in Injustice series, I believe.
And speaking of SSJBs. It may work as Necalli transformation in SFV. It lasts to the end of match.

More info from Reddit:
Figured out how you collect the Dragon Balls from the footage, it's based on how many hits you did in your combo, it changes every 10 hits and the announcer will say something different.

10 hit combo - Good - 1 star ball
20 hit combo - Fantastic - 2 star ball
30 hit combo - Wonderful - 3 star ball
40 hit combo - Excellent - 4 star ball
I also saw "Ultimate" at 70 hits and it granted the 7 star Ball.

Still no idea what it does when you get all 7 or who gets the buff (the person who gets the last one?) but this is how you collect them.
Here's a gif showing the balls being gathered:

The game might be great, but 3v3 is not my cup of tea. I like 1v1, 2D fighting. Heck, I only bought Burst Limit when I learned that stuff like the drama pieces (which are a simple form of assists) were optional.

Yeah, I hate team fighters, especially tag; would have preferred KoF-style if it had to be team. Hoping my love for DB will be enough to get past my distaste for it.

And apparently they were talking about the tutorial mode being simpler, not training mode. That makes more sense.
