I actually quite like the team composition decently enough as is. The only things I would change would be changing that overused bastard Frieza back to being Buu and changing Roshi to Yamcha. While Roshi had some of the best episodes in the tournament, I wish they would have gone to Tenshinhan instead since he can also use the mafuba. In return they could give Yamcha Tien's current role of being basically a waste of space. I mean preferably I'd like all the damn fighters to get some good showings, but if someone has to be the weak link, at least let it be the guy we're all used to getting the short end of the stick. Then he'd at least have the privilege of even BEING IN the tournament rather than his supposed friends forgetting about his existence.

...Oh and my dream version of universe 7 would actually utilize teamwork instead of just talking about using teamwork all the time.

First of all, this type of arc would have been the perfect way to develop Uub without taking the spotlight away from the other characters. Of course, even if the arc was set during this period, we'd still need competent writing to make the best of it.

Secondly, they really f'ing dropped the ball with Captain Ginyu. He was such a unique character and I believe even Goku mentioned he was never really that bad. He'd make a great supporting character and add comedic relief too. Plus, that change technique can be helpful.

Pikkon and Future Trunks get honorable mentions.

Always loved Ginyu, but I think even if Goku says never was so bad, it's still a crazy dangerous move to bring him with Z warriors, only a second lasting distraction and he'd swap bodies with Goku, Vegeta or even Hit or Jiren, becoming a devastating menace
He swapped with Goku once. We know how that went. Ginyu's technique has its limitations. Also, he never swapped with Frieza, despite working with him for so long. In fact, he seemed supremely loyal to him. It's clear Ginyu is a team player when it suits him, or at the very least, he can be written as such. I am basing my vision of Ginyu on DBZ, not that piece of **** F arc. That was not Ginyu. It was a random filler villain.

I highly doubt that, he's the leader of Frieza's top band of goons. They likely have a collective kill count that rivals their master. Ginyu himself as likely slaughtered many people but thats not all, if his actions agenst Goku are any indicastion he's not only stolen the bodies fo quite a few people he's also happly let them bleed to death if he didn't kill them right away. The fact he plays along with his men and master's sick games is not a sign of a "ok but bad guy". Ginyu's so called "honer" is pretty easily dropped the second he's not in a possition of power, he didn't even attept to fight Goku after he powered up, rather acted like the coward he really is and stole Goku's body. Really Goku's statment of Ginyu being "not like the other" is just him being naive and only seeing the mask, not what was under it.

I think Guts from the Berserk manga put it best when he faces a foe who appeared to have a warrior code and thics....

"Monsters should no pretend to be warriors....you self absorbed bastard!"
Out of all the evil characters in DB, Ginyu has to be the easiest to be written as a good or neutral character. Yeah, he may become a double agent, given his tendency to want to be part of the winning side, but he's also showed loyalty. This makes him more interesting. This character had soooo much potential.

Side note, Vegeta was wayyy more evil than Ginyu.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Thats a pretty bold statament given that Ginyu has no even 10% of Veget's total screen time in the series.

In terms of kill count Ginyu likely has mudered just as many people in cold blood as Vegeta has. Vegeta defenatly more ruthless then Ginyu I'll grant tou but then the two come from to very different situastion. Despite what some may think some of Frieza's solders likely came to work for him of their own accord or becuse they were hired, Ginyu is likely one of them. So he and Frieza's relastionship have a different bedrock to Vegeta's, who while likly payed and privleged for his work, was forced into working for Frieza. Also loyalty is founded on at least some measure of trust and respect, to have that Ginyu must has a similur mindest to his master espacially with how well the two get one with each other. Hell Ginyu is the closest Frieza comes to treating anyone with respect.

But loyalty dose not make a good person. Pleanty of scumbags has loyalty. For all his cold hearted, ruthlessness Vegeta is always Vegeta, espacially in his younger years. He never pretends to be anything else then himself and even when everything blows up in his face, as with the androids, his pride and twisted sense of honour never get dropped, even when he'd benfit from it. Ginyu by contrast acts the part of a warrior yet the second things are not going his way he drops all his all his so called honour without hesitatsion. Thats not to say that ginyu is not smart, loyal and a very gifted fighter despite stealing bodies but at his core Ginyu is not an honourble man. He a weakling who stole a stronger persons body and to me personally all all his manners and warrior ethic is purly due to his power and rank, he acts that way because that how he thinks people of his level should but unlike Vegeta thats no who he is at his core.

While I do think Ginyu could become a good person under the right condustions, he could be incoraged to become a warrior rather then just act the part, you'd actually have a much harder job because you'd have to get through all his his idyllic persona and bullsh#t and actually find the real Ginyu under it all.

Roshi can use the Mafuuba, the lullaby hypnosis and is wise. Krilin... Krilin has some great techniques too. I see Gohan as a nuisance and he is a character that trained for something like less than 72 since the Buu saga [or in the last 7 years], and he is the reason why Piccolo lost 3 f*cking arms.

I honestly wouldn't change the team as it. I think the team as whole (minus perhaps Tien) have been utilised very well.

What are you talking about? They have been utilising teamwork, and most of the time, it's been very successful.

But you can't overlook the fact that Cell and Buu-Han would still be in the tournament right now. Regardless of the little clever tricks those two bring to the table, raw power will be more effective. Roshi and Krillin were only effective for small timers.
How i predict the tournament will end:

I think the current team is fine. The only person I'd replace is that useless piece of shit (excuse my language) Tenshinhan with Future Trunks.
