That was a very special case, though. Buu was pretty much threatening all existance, so allowing a recently deceased warrior who hadn't been reincarnated yet to get his body back for the specific sake of stopping this monster isn't that bad a move. Buu's existance was threatening Yama and his peers as well, and they have to look out for themselves too.Dark Vegeta-Sama wrote:By rights, Vegeta shouldn't have been allowed to keep his body when he died, even if Buu was killing most people on the earth and Vegeta was the planet's only fighting chance left. The rules of the afterlife aren't always strictly followed in the series.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Yeah but there was a really good reason- the Budokai. That's why Trunks left it at home in the first place and Vegeta had to give it to him later. Still, it would have been cool, I'll admit.Kunzait_83 wrote:Much as I love Movie 9, that always did bother me.The Lecherous Muten Roshi wrote:Movie 9 should have had a sword fight between Trunks and Gokua.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.
I think the tradeoff was worth it-- we got one of the best Vegeta entrances ever (throwing the scabbard to block the spike and the sword to cut the psychic lines) and the first one ever where he's saving someone not either to beat them later or to show off his power, but because he actually cares about them.Onikage725 wrote:Yeah but there was a really good reason- the Budokai. Yeah, that was his most badass intro, and one of my favorites up their with both his and Piccolo's in movie 7. He loses points in 7 for delivering the cliche "don't misunderstand me" speech though.Thanos6 wrote:I think the tradeoff was worth it-- we got one of the best Vegeta entrances ever (throwing the scabbard to block the spike and the sword to cut the psychic lines) and the first one ever where he's saving someone not either to beat them later or to show off his power, but because he actually cares about them.Onikage725 wrote:Yeah but there was a really good reason- the Budokai. Speaking of the dragon, I think the dub should have left some ambiguity about Porunga. It's a small thing, but in the original everyone refers to Porunga as Namek's Shenron (I think even Super Shenron at one point) before they are eventually corrected.Super Sonic wrote:I thought the dub should have had Shenron talk in old English. Something like, "Thou who hast gathered the seven Dragonballs, speaketh thine wish."
