Yes, you are an ass, you've been an ass, and you'll apparently always be an ass, what considering I never said that anyone was wrong about anything. The fact that you even bothered to make comment on that specific part of my original post in the first place, in the way that you did, just further proves it. Especially when I stated that was commenting specifically on what I'd read of the thread (which was a majority of it, I skimmed through a lot fewer posts than I'd thought I had).

And I find this highly amusing as I've seen you repeat previously stated information and ignore information.

You guys realize that the only thing any of you are managing to do is alienate and scare people away from posting in this and other topics, right?

I probably dreamt that one :
"Ok, I skipped over a large chunk of this thread just now to post this because, at least from what I read, everyone's missing it."
I stated that was commenting specifically on what I'd read of the thread
Well, please read the topic before replying? It's not like it was 30 page-long or anything...

Yeah, you weren't being condescending at all. You weren't being an ass at all. That was just my imagination.

Such as? If you're talking about "I think he expected Gokû to defeat Freeza, but got worried when he saw Freeza arrive and still no sign of Gokû", that's just one sentence, y'know? And that wasn't exactly the main point of my post.
But then again, maybe I shouldn't expect you to read my messages in their entirety?

And since when has that meant wrong? I just means someting was being over looked. I never said anything about people being wrong. You're the one that always thinks they're right about everything. :?
Olivier Hague wrote:Well, please read the topic before replying? It's not like it was 30 page-long or anything...
And obviously you don't pay attention to posts or have any common sense. It wouldn't have mattered if I'd read everything (and, as I've said, skipped was a typo, I skimmed the remaining posts, which were fewer than I'd first thought at that) because I was specifically commenting on the first several posts in the thread. The only change would have been me saying I was commenting on the first posts instead of saying I'd skimmed the last several.

Don't know, don't care, and it doesn't matter. If it's not directly contradicted by the manga it's still viable. All that matters is that he looked at his watch and mentioned the tracking satelites following the pod.

And since when has sarcasm = calling someone a moron? I was merely pointing out he spent the time to count how long ago he'd made his post just so he could make a completely pointless post.

Anyway, I'm done. This is the reason I generally ignore your posts anymore. Should have just done it again.

Oh, come on...
I never said anything about people being wrong.
Yeah, you just said that you read a few posts, saw that people were "missing it", and assumed that nobody would get this right anyway, so you decided to stop reading (almost two whole pages! who could blame you?) and reply in order to finally set things straight for us.
Again, thank God you're here.
It wouldn't have mattered if I'd read everything
Please read the topic before replying.
And yes, it would have mattered. Or are you telling me that you would have ignored the correct replies anyway?
All that matters is that he looked at his watch and mentioned the tracking satelites following the pod.
I didn't know the TV series referred to satellites (and the manga doesn't tell us what Trunks' watch does exactly). Interesting, if possibly improvised by Tôei without Toriyama's input.
But that still doesn't tell us what Trunks' expectations were... Was Freeza early, as far as he was concerned, or was Gokû late?

That was uncalled for, that's all.
I was merely pointing out he spent the time to count how long ago he'd made his post just so he could make a completely pointless post.
Yeah, I'm sure he spent a lot of time doing that. And of course his criticism was "pointless".
And you call me an ass?
This is the reason I generally ignore your posts anymore. Should have just done it again.
Thing is, you did ignore my post and several others when you replied "everyone's missing it". Oh, the irony.

Olivier, while I agree that Rob really should have read through the entire thread before assuming anything and replying, I consider Majin's response to him,

uncalled for.

What I mean is, he could have been more respectful in how he responded and said it. It's a little one-sided of you to act like Xyex is the only one here acting like an ass, when other people are too. And I think that's the point he's been trying to make. Except you're so concerned with proving *your* point, you're missing it. Ya okay, he should have read everything and not assumed people hadn't clued into something when some already had and posted it. I can see being a little irked by that, but you know what? Grow up and drop the ego. This is one forum on the vast internet for a bunch of geeks who like a 20 year-old kid's fantasy cartoon about martial arts and adventuring. You guys have now taken pretty much an entire page debating the semantics of this. It's damn annoying to everyone else here. And for the record, I'm saying that *everyone* should let it go and drop the argument, so I would please ask that you don't accuse me of playing favourites here.

Anyway, sorry for steering this off-topic further, I've watched this thread for the last 24 hours holding my tongue, but I think something had to be said since things don't seem to be stoping.

Did I say you? I was referring to Majin's posts the whole time. I even quoted the guy. -_- The only part where I was mentioning you was the inclusion of everyone keeping this argument going a whole page, which now I'm being pulled into. Therefore I'm stopping here. I should have continued refraining from posting since I had a feeling this would be the result. But well, I suppose I'm just a foolish optimist.....as the paintings in that famous Monty Python skit would say, "I'm off." Have fun everyone and bring me a souvenir!

Okay. I apologize if I hurt any feelings, but the fact that the man (?) decided to step in as though he was "King Logic" and dazzle us with something that he felt we were too dense to ascertain was somewhat insulting. I mean, really, it takes some sort of ego to break in and go, "Well, I didn't read a large chunk of the thread (which clocked in at a massive 1+ pages at that point), but here's what you guys couldn't get."

It doesn't hurt me, it just makes an ass out of him. And while I may be a dick, 90% of the time it's warranted and when it's not I admit it.
Ya okay, he should have read everything and not assumed people hadn't clued into something when some already had and posted it. I can see being a little irked by that, but you know what? Grow up and drop the ego.
I was unaware that my statements could be taken as egotistical. I merely teased Xyex for breaking in with his great epiphany when it had in fact already been stated. Does this mean that if someone chimed in and said, "Hey! I haven't read any science books or anything, but the Earth revolves around the Sun!" I would be an egotist for stating that such information was commonplace?
And for the record, I'm saying that *everyone* should let it go and drop the argument, so I would please ask that you don't accuse me of playing favourites here.
I'm not going to, I'm simply going to state that people are being idiots. I'm fully willing to admit when I'm wrong, but here I'm not. It's incredibly ignorant to march into a thread, submit an answer with an air of arrogance that is completely unfounded, and then get defensive when people point out your mistake. Moreover, to have others try and act as though those who were insulting to begin with are the antagonists is even more amazing.

Look, I've jumped in and made statements before that were already said, or even completely wrong to begin with. Case in point, the Wikipedia page for Solid Snake (of Metal Gear Solid fame). There is a picture up of Snake aiming an M1911 pistol, and it was labeled as a "SIG GSR," an M1911 clone made by Sig Sauer. I kept correcting this to state it was an M1911 and asked for a reference that it was a SIG GSR. It kept getting changed back and forth by us, until today when I saw demo footage from the "E for All" trade show that proved it was in fact a GSR. I retracted, apologized and that was that. Had Xyex merely said, "Hm, I'm sorry. I didn't know people had already said (nearly) the exact same thing I did," this whole thing would be a non-issue. Sadly, some people are dicks :P

Guys it's okay, like I said, I'm not trying to lay the blame all on one person. Yes as I said, Rob should have read the thread right through, and I understand how it could come across as insulting on your end. I was just trying to explain things from *all* sides and wanted the arguing to stop because it was continuing and just getting worse. And Majin I know that you're a reasonable guy most of time just the post came off that way. Once again with the internet, it really is next to impossible to communicate the way something's meant. Always frustrating.-_-

And Olivier, apology accepted.

Really, I'm honestly done this time in the thread now. >> ^^;

Interesting stuff. We've got Trunks down, but I still don't understand how Cell fits into all of this. I don't think I ever will, nor do I think AT ever even though about it that deeply. Too late now.

Could someone explain how Cell fits into this for me? It's been mentioned in this thread but quite vaguely IMO, mainly because this thread is about Trunks' encounter with Freeza, not Cell. :P

How Cell fits? In terms of how he came to be? Alright...I guess I can try.

Dr. Gero was gathering information and data on Goku and the rest of the Z Fighters through those little machines. We have that confirmed.

The same way that Trunks came from the future, Cell came from the future the same way. Basically, when the Androids come to face off with the Z Fighters, Cell is in his very first early stage. There's even an episode where Krillin and Trunks find Dr. Gero's laboratory and destroy the tiny little embryo that would become Cell.

In the future timeline, everyone was killed, including Dr. Gero. Cell was an embryo and grew. This timeline is even more in the future than the one Trunks came back from.

Cell got out of his pod when the Androids were defeated by Trunks (in the future...of the future lol) and could not complete his mission of absorbing them to become Perfect.

Cell met Trunks and killed Trunks to steal his time machine to go into the past and find Androids 17 and 18 to absorb them.

So it's really 2 alternate realities, one that Trunks comes from, and another that Cell came to the past from. There is an episode where Trunks comes back to the future, and since we all know that the alternate timelines change, Trunks meets Imperfect Cell and kills him.

I hope that kind of cleared it up a little. As far as Cell having everyone's cells in him...never explained, but sure is a cool idea. :)

Oi... is that really how it came off? :? That was far from the intention. I read about half to 2/3 of the thread before I skimmed the rest (and all I caught in yours was comments towards the theories in the thread) and since I'd seen no mention of scene in question I decided to bring it up.

The issue is that instead of simply mentioning it had been brought up earlier and then continuing on with the topic the replies were just people being asses about it just for the sake of it.

Except that htere was no 'air of arrogance' or anything of the like. It was just a post. The arrogance did not start until Olivier's post. I didn't get insulted, I got pissed off by egotistical replies I got back that tried to claim I was saying or implying things I wasn't.

Yes. You basically explained that you decided to reply without reading the rest of the topic (and it wasn't that long, really) because you didn't expect other people to get it right based on the few posts you had read already. Which is both illogical and arrogant.
