Vegeta isn't fighting Jiren to hype him up, Vegeta is fighting Jiren because that is only person who can take him out of the ring and if you want a nice 3v3. Someone has to go and he is the only one who would charge a much much stronger enemy.Artorias wrote:So it really seems to me like we're setting up for a 3 v 1 fight against Jiren with Freeza, Goku, and Gohan. I can't imagine Dyspo giving Freeza any real trouble, and I'm assuming we'll get a Toppo v Gohan, which could go either way, although I just get the vibe that Gohan's around to stay to the end with the way they've been building him up. And Goku is a given. Vegeta somehow not losing to Jiren will be contrived nonsense, even with UI, so I'm pretty sure he's gone after 123 at the latest.
I'm not even that much of a Vegeta fan, but it is kinda annoying that they're YET AGAIN likely going to use him as the hype man for the villain, because Jiren ALREADY fought and beat Goku. GOKU was actually the jobber this time. We don't need another instance of Jiren showing off by beating one of our strong guys. Would've much preferred Vegeta to stick around and work with Goku, Gohan, or even Freeza. Obviously that could still happen, but that seems very unlikely at this point. Sorry Vegeta fans, but I think ya boi is done.

Jiren in the manga is said to surpassed his God of Destruction. Beerus one-shotted Mastered Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegeta the moment he got somewhat serious, meaning that if Jiren is anywhere near Beerus' level of power, he can do the same to Vegeta and Goku. So manga Vegeta would have the exact same problem as anime Vegeta.Alruneia wrote:And that's the problem, isn't it. Though this is more a problem that's been caused by the anime, due to the Kaioken. If Jiren is much more powerful than Blue Kaioken x20 Goku, then he's over 20 times stronger than Vegeta too. As it is, Vegeta logically has absolutely no chance, so it's difficult to get excited and expect anything. I wish I could be more optimistic, hoping for UI Vegeta or something, but I just don't see it happening here.Kenneth La Torre wrote:An SSB Vegeta would get glared away by Jiren.
At least in the manga he can have the same role as he did in the Kid Buu fight, where he was getting wrecked as an SS2 while buying time for SS3 Goku, showing extreme resilience and just not giving up despite being outmatched. The power scaling isn't too crazy for something like that to happen in that version. I'd like that.

I hope 17 wouldn't get eliminated without a big fightBig Chief wrote:If 17 survives the battle with Aniraza, I feel he might be eliminated by Toppo.CriticalThinker wrote:I'll be honest the real reason why I'm excited for episode 121 and onwards is because Toppo finally gets to do something. For almost the entire damn tournament he's done pretty much nothing but stand around and act as Jiren's hype man. Sure he fought some fodder early on and later Vegeta but that just came off as padding for those episodes since they didn't amount to anything. I mean the most memorable thing he's done so far is burn Vegeta and that's it. With U3 being out soon he doesn't have a reason to stand around and do nothing anymore. Sorry if this comes off as rantish but I'm just annoyed at how they've used him thus far in the tournament. Hopefully when Toppo time comes he gets a good fight and maybe even an elimination and doesn't get taken out like a scrub.

that depends on how powerful is Manga Belmod is compared to BeerusHeroR wrote:Jiren in the manga is said to surpassed his God of Destruction. No not really. In the Manga Jiren could only be 2-3x SSB and still stomp Goku and Vegeta.HeroR wrote:Jiren in the manga is said to surpassed his God of Destruction. Further there is no broad gap that Goku can go into vs Vegeta.
For instance we know in the manga that Vegeta and Goku are roughly similar power levels at max. Where as in the anime Goku can get 20x stronger than whatever his SSB is at a moments notice.
Thus even if Goku losses to Jiren it's still plausible that Vegeta could perform better than him as he doesn't need to cross a 20x gap (chasm) in power versus how the anime presents it. Further even if we allow for 50% Jiren stamina cost.
If we were to illustrate this mathematically in power levels it could look like this:
Anime:
SSB Goku/Vegeta = 1
Jiren = 50
SSBx20xKK Goku = 20
Jiren 50% = 25
Vegeta needs to increase his power by 21x or 2100% stronger in the past 10 minutes in order to do better than Goku powerwise.
Manga:
SSB Goku/Vegeta = 1
Jiren = 5
Jiren = 2.5
Vegeta would only need to be 1% stronger to outperform Goku power wise at his current best.
Goku & Vegeta would need to increase strength by 5x or 500% to compete against a hypothetical Jiren who is 5x stronger.
A Jiren who is tired or no more than 2x stronger to begin with could easily become a victim to exhaustion along with a "rage" boost from the saiyans to close that gap.
Basically because the scale is much smaller thanks to the exclusion of KK to this point it makes it more likely and plausible that gaps like this can be overcame.

And the gap between Goku and Jiren would be wider than just 2x or 5x because Vegetto Blue with a full powered Final Kamehameha was compared to Beerus and Vegetto is far more than Goku x Vegeta.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
We know manga Beerus is towards the top tier of gods as all the others ganged up on him for a little bit ams he wasn't instantly clobbered.
We know Jiren is stronger than Belmod and Goku.
We know Beerus is stronger than Goku.
We don't know how Belmod compares to Beerus and how Beerus compares to Jiren.
The fact they always describe Jiren as stronger than his god of destruction and Not stronger than *any* god of destruction.
We just don't know where Jiren slots in amongst all the gods. It could be Belmod is the weakest and the rest are way stronger. I like this interpretation because Belmod is literally a lazy clown and wants to quit the Job asap.

I don’t how can someone put beerus at the top without doubt.Noah wrote:Not the fans, but Toyotaro: Beerus being one of the last remaining Gods in Zen-Oh Exhibition Matches in the manga, when many believed he would be one of the weakeast.HeroR wrote:All the Gods of Destruction in the manga are comparable to each other, despite fans wanking Beerus to be the strongest.
Beerus and quiteala were the last ones standing.Both of them were restrained and damaged by belmod.
Liquir was the only one to get out of belmod’s telekinesis who was damaged badly by Coleoptera.
Sidra easily defended against beerus attack.
Mosco was taking on both iwen and helles.
Rumishi’s roar paralysed every hakaishin.
The only reason gods ganged up on beerus was because of their dislike.Btw,we may get a expanded god fight in volume,so we should also wait for that.
Why power levels are important?
